Bachelor in Paradise couples in shock split after show
Move over MAFS — it looks like Bachelor in Paradise may have stolen their record for romance, with one couple lasting just a day in the real world.
Move over Married At First Sight, it looks like this year’s season of Bachelor in Paradise is taking your crown with the worst record for creating long-lasting relationships.
During last night’s episode, Alisha Aitken-Radburn broke down in tears after being rejected by on-again, off-again boyfriend Jules Bourne.
In an awkward exchange during which she gave him an ultimatum to admit they were more than just “mates”, which he was unable to do.
“I’m not your mate. Nor have I been this whole time. If you think that I’ve been your friend through this process. You’re kidding yourself,” she told him, alluding to their intimate relationship.
However, it emerged during the reunion segment that the pair had resumed seeing each other once they left Paradise.
In an uncomfortable confrontation, Alisha slammed Jules for sending her mixed signals by sleeping at her house and talking about children, before dumping him for good in front of a live studio audience.
“This is my night for closure,” she said, accusing him of “dangling the carrot” with her.
“When you kiss me in Byron Bay. When you sleep over at my house. And we’re back there and we’re together. Then you tell me it’s a comfort thing.”
Before Thursday’s finale even aired, two of the series’ strongest couples had taken to social media to confirm they were no longer together.
Shannon Baff, who left Bachelor in Paradise earlier with American Bachelorette contestant Connor Orochta to test their relationship in the real world, told The Courier Mail their romance lasted just days after their decision to leave.
“A week and a half (after the show) he went to LA and I heard nothing else,” she said.
In a lengthy Instagram post about their breakup Shannon also revealed she and Connor spent just a day together after the show ended.
“I got home, we continued to talk and planned to see each other again but after a week I felt as if the effort to make that happen was not reciprocated and the communication was becoming one sided,” Shannon wrote.
Alex Bordyukov and Caroline Lunny, who were brought onto the show as intruders from the American version but fell for each other, are also no longer together.
Another couple that left the show early because they felt secure enough in their relationship, Caroline and Alex confirmed that while the pair had continued to see each back home in the US they ultimately parted ways.

Also done are Alex Nation and Bill Goldsmith, whose rocky relationship in Fiji reportedly only last weeks once they were back in Australia.
During Thursday night’s episode, Alex revealed what had really happened to cause the end of their relationship, claiming Bill - who refused to appear on the reunion show - became distant toward her.
“We came back from Paradise and it was good for three weeks and he told me that he didn’t love me and that I suppose, we couldn’t be together, and that he thinks it was the environment that made him fall in love with me,” Alex told host Osher Gunsberg.
“I find it really hard to talk about him when he’s not here, I wish he was here so we could go through this together... It was hard ‘cause we came back and everything was amazing and then it was flipped on its head.”
This comes despite Alex admitting she was falling in love with Bill on Wednesday night’s episode and becoming emotional during an on-camera interview.
“I feel funny, I’ve done this s**t before,” Alex said, sitting down on a couch with her face in her hands.
“But I’m literally, I’m madly in love with him but it scares me because I’m just like it is here (in Fiji)? And I want to know if it’s out there.”
It also looks like Bill has well and truly moved on from Alex, with Daily Mail Australia publishing photos last month of the reality star locking lips with a mystery brunette.
Davey Lloyd and Florence Alexandra’s last minute romance also hasn’t gone the distance, with Davey also busted by photographers kissing his new girlfriend Georgia Cook this week.
Florence and Davey got together in the final days of Bachelor in Paradise after a long-running flirtation but had struggled with intimacy.
On Wednesday night’s episode Florence admitted to her friend Steph Dixon that Davey would claim he was “tired” when they were in bed together.
“He’s always tired, it’s terrible. It wasn’t much, trust me. I hate to admit this on camera, but I have to tell you,” Florence complained.
This year’s Bachelor in Paradise mass breakups contrasts with last year’s season, which ended on a much more loved-up note.
Keira Maguire and Jarrod Woodgate are still an item while Megan Marx and Jake Ellis ended their relationship earlier this year.
Sam Cochrane proposed to Tara Pavlovic in last year’s finale, however, split acrimoniously in June last year.
