Shocking moment everyone on Celebrity Apprentice turned on Martha
One “really bad” final outburst from this Celeb Apprentice star saw the whole boardroom turn on her – and her immediate firing.
Former MAFS star Martha Kalifatidis was set up for a fall during Monday’s penultimate episode of Celebrity Apprentice, delivering a desperate final plea to Lord Alan Sugar – that saw everyone in the boardroom immediately turn on her.
Tensions were high in the boardroom as Martha and former teammate Shaynna Blaze competed for the one remaining spot in the grand final (comedian Ross Noble had already sailed through). As boardroom boss Sugar mulled over who to choose and who to fire, Martha piped up with a last-ditch plea she’d come to regret.

“Can I say something?” she asked, earning a noncommittal grunt from Sugar. “This will change my life. This opportunity, for me, will literally open so many doors. I will prove, not only to you guys, but to so many people, that I am competent. I’m not just an influencer, I’m not just a beauty blogger, I’m not just a make-up artist. It will give me so many opportunities.”
An impassioned speech – but one that ignored the main purpose of the show, to raise money for each celebrity’s chosen charity. Martha is raising money for anti-bullying organisation Bully Zero.
“It’s also about charity,” board member Janine Allis reminded Martha. “The ‘change of life’ is actually the money that will go to the charity.”
Shaynna and already-eliminated contestant Josh Gibson both spoke up to insist that they were competing solely to raise money for their chosen charities. Indeed, earlier in the episode Shaynna had been shown weeping on camera, overwhelmed by the money she’d won for her domestic violence charity.
“Do you think you’ve just put your foot in it? The way you’re worried about yourself rather than your charity?” Lord Sugar asked Martha.

Seconds later, a stunned-looking Martha was fired, with Shaynna through to the grand final. It was a swift and surprising end for one of the season’s most controversial contestants.
Fans debated the cringe-worthy moment online, with some insisting Martha had shown her “true colours” – while others argued that any celeb appearing on a reality show like this is getting more out of it that just money for their charity of choice:
Ha ha Martha has forgotten about her charity already #CelebrityApprentice

I think the other celebrities can bank on their fame more than Martha can and so Martha was extra appreciative of how doing this program would help her #CelebrityApprentice

Speaking on-air with Fitzy and Wippa this morning, Martha admitted her boardroom speech “looked really bad” and said she didn’t want to make excuses for it.
“It was entertaining, it was funny… everyone who was on the show with me, my friends, my family, they know what I’m like. The show’s entertaining, I won so much money for charity, what more can I ask for?” she said.
She also said she wished the show had featured scenes where she wasn’t “being a total bitch,” calling the edit “upsetting.”
“It would’ve been nice if they’d shown another side to me, but it is what it is,” she said. Her comments come after pop duo The Veronicas repeatedly complained about the show’s “edit” which they said focused on drama rather than the heartfelt moments.
Martha’s exit came an episode after she found herself in the centre of a cheating scandal, with viewers fuming when she appeared to flagrantly break the show’s rules – but was still awarded with a challenge win.
Some fans on social media questioned why the former MAFS star wasn’t immediately fired by Lord Sugar after she appeared to call on her own personal contacts – including her reality star boyfriend Michael Brunelli – to buy thousands of dollars worth of ice cream to help win a challenge.
