Sharon and Ankur take time out from The Block after heated clashes

Controversial Block couple Sharon and Ankur say they wish they’d never signed up for the show, after fights with their builders and foreman.

Things are going from bad to worse for controversial Block couple Sharon and Ankur, who spent most of their screentime during Tuesday’s episode complaining about the show, feuding with their builder and foreman and eventually bailing on the worksite altogether.

First up, they were shown having yet another disagreement with their builder Liam, who has repeatedly asked them to do more work on their house outside of business hours to lighten the load for him.

“It’s impossible to make him happy,” said Sharon. “It’s annoying that this conversation keeps coming up – it’s not good for morale.”

Viewers were then shown Sharon and Ankur in their car together, venting about how little they were enjoying their experience on The Block.

“I hate it here … how sh*t is it?” asked Sharon.

“I actually cannot wait to get out of this place,” said Ankur.

Both agreed they never would've done The Block if only they’d known.

Both agreed that they would never have signed up for the show, which is now in its 18th season, if they known how intense it would be.

The couple then returned to site to find a very stern-looking foreman Keith waiting outside their house. Turns out Keith had told them to cover up an exposed exterior area of their house several days ago, and it hadn’t been done. One downpour and their house would suffer costly damage, he warned them, ordering their whole team to stop what they were doing and cover the exposed areas immediately.

Sharon instead jumped back in her car and left The Block, complaining about Keith’s “neggo eggo energy”.

“I’m leaving, I can’t be f**ked. He’s just a prick,” she fumed, before giving herself (and the in-car camera) a pep talk.

Sharon raged against ‘prick’ Keith for telling them to protect their house from the elements.

“Just remember, you’ve got an amazing life outside of this, and these people will not break you down. This is just a TV show that’s designed to break you for good television,” she said “They do not care about you, it’s just entertainment. Even though we’re not treated like human beings, we have to treat everyone else like human beings.”

There was some brief respite later in the episode as the teams all headed to a homestead for this week’s challenge, a fun-filled few hours of trying to master some topiary for a cash prize.

But there was more trouble brewing once the challenge finished, as Ankur and Sharon didn’t return to site for several hours.

The downcast couple were shown in their car after the challenge, both agreeing they don’t want to return to The Block – and instead pulling over to the side of the road, where they covered the car’s camera with a jacket and appeared to take a nap.

Their prolonged absence, 72 hours from room reveal, did not go unnoticed by their builders.

“It’s been pretty hard the last couple of weeks … we’ve tried to have conversations with Shaz and Anks, and we feel like we’re not being heard,” said builder Scotty in a rare to-camera interview.

“The last few days, literally nothing has happened. When we ask for 10 minutes of clean-up and it can’t be done … it annoys us.”

Back at naptime, Ankur was woken by a call from The Block producers asking where they were. Despite Sharon insisting he not answer, he told the caller they were both off-site “doing some kitchen planning”.

They returned to find Keith once again waiting at their house, ready with a lecture about returning to site quickly without wasting time.

“I take real issue when anyone questions our work ethic,” said Sharon. “We don’t waste time. I do take it personally.”

As the episode ended, the couple once again complained that they weren’t enjoying their experience on The Block.

“Enjoyment factor is in the bin,” said Ankur. “This sucks.”

“Overall it’s not enjoyable,” said Sharon.

And the drama continues in Wednesday’s episode, with a preview showing that Scott Cam – clearly annoyed with their complaints – tells them that “nobody is keeping you here”.

It seems they take him at his word, with the couple both leaving the site in a car as Ankur suggests to his wife that they quit the show.
