Reality TV star Caroline Gaultier has shared an update on her mother, who was recently diagnosed with cancer while Caroline was filming the show.

The reality star was told the devastating news as cameras rolled on the BINGE series, with the star breaking down in tears in front of the cameras.

In her second appearance this season on Joel Creasey’s the RHOS official podcast on Nova Entertainment, Caroline said she had the choice whether she wanted those scenes to air or to leave the moment private.

“I had a choice if I wanted to make it public or not,” she told Creasey. “It was 100 per cent my choice. So I spoke to my Mum and she said, ‘Listen I was born in show business, I will die in show business.’”

Caroline’s mum was a famous actress and journalist in Prague and is more headstrong than the feisty former model. Aged in her 70s, she says she’s had a good run and wants to spend her final years living her life, not undergoing treatment.

Caroline respects her mum’s wishes, but it’s still hard at the thought of her mum passing.

“Sometimes I’m OK to talk about it, but I don’t want to ruin my make up,” she said on the podcast.

“It comes in waves. It’s a whole thing. I wasn’t OK for two years after my dog passed, so I really don’t know how it’s going to go down. It’s a whole new experience for me. I’m trying. Sometimes to pull it off, sometimes I don’t.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Caroline couldn’t help but criticise her castmates’ inability to move on from drama.

“Who’s got the time? Say what you need to say, hear the other person’s perspecitve, have a little think, and then say sorry or make up or whatever and let’s move on,” she said.

“I think we have a little bit of an issue with moving on.”

This week, RHOS castmate Terry Biviano organised a trip for the girls to Tokyo to help take Caroline’s mind off her mother. But the girls getaway quickly turned sour when Terry and Krissy Marsh got into a confrontation while at sake tasting.

Essentially, Krissy thinks Terry is constantly siding with castmate Dr Kate Adams, even if Terry has been friends with Krissy for longer.

“I think Krissy was under the assumption they were BFFs,” Caroline said. “I think Terry’s perception of their friendship is different and that’s what the fight was about.”

Caroline was there with the duo as the tension broke out, but she kept out of it and continued to drink her sake and gin – all two bottles of it.

“This particular argument refers to their friendship that I’m not privy too prior. So I cannot comment on it because I don’t know what their friendship was at outside the show for 15 years,” she said.

“As much as I can comment on what’s happening in front of me, I think most of the girls, other than Kate and myself, have history of friendships. So I feel like something can seep into the current friendships, or if they have any vendettas, or if there have been any issues which I don’t know about and I’ve never asked, so I can’t comment.”

Caroline did say that she thinks the drama between her castmates is “cute” as it’s not a matter of life and death.

“The problems are cute. They’re not heartbreaking scenarios they’re fighting over: ‘Are you my real friend? Are you not my real friend? I can’t believe you said this too me …’” she mocked.

“It’s cute. It’s not really that [bad] – did you die? No one’s dead … it’s a level I can tolerate.”

Joel Creasey’s Nova Entertainment The Real Housewives of Sydney podcast airs every Tuesday following new episodes of RHOS on BINGE.
