Omarosa tipped for Big Brother VIP amid huge pay cheque claims

A key advisor to Donald Trump will reportedly appear on Big Brother VIP – and it’s alleged Seven is paying her and Caitlyn Jenner big money.

Reality star, author and former advisor to Donald Trump Omarosa Manigault Newman is the latest controversial figure tipped to be competing on Big Brother VIP.

Prominent US outlet People reports that Omarosa, who got her start competing on the first season of The Apprentice back in 2004, has been enlisted by Seven to compete in the new celeb-based Big Brother series – and will be paid $450,000 for her efforts.

Omarosa was employed as an assistant to then-president Donald Trump, but in 2017 she exited the White House and slammed the Trump administration in a tell-all book called Unhinged.

People also reports that Caitlyn Jenner, already widely tipped to be competing, is being paid $500,000, and that the pair are the two highest-paid people competing this season.

People quotes an insider as saying: “Omarosa and Caitlyn are expected to go head-to-head, especially about LGBTQ+ issues.”

While Seven is yet to confirm or deny any of the celebs rumoured to be competing in Big Brother VIP, photos have emerged showing Jenner seeing out two weeks’ hotel quarantine in Sydney, with Big Brother VIP filming at Olympic Park.

Each new person tipped for this season of Big Brother has been met with controversy, with one “celeb” deported from our shores before she could even start filming.

Jenner’s arrival in Australia was labelled a “slap in the face” by a group representing Australians stranded abroad, angered that she was able to fly in for a TV show when so many Australians are still trying to get home.

Many also questioned how Jenner could travel to Sydney for several weeks when she’s currently campaigning to become the next governor of California.

“I am honouring a work commitment that I had made prior to even deciding to run for governor. There is no pause at all on this race to save California!” the Republican candidate said.

But the upset over Jenner’s arrival was nothing compared to the scandal that erupted over UK commentator Katie Hopkins’ arrival in the country.

The far-right figure, who got her start in the UK version of The Apprentice, ignited a firestorm of controversy when she boasted of breaking strict hotel quarantine rules and potentially exposing quarantine workers to infection. She was swiftly deported from the country, with Seven saying they “strongly condemn her irresponsible and reckless comments in hotel quarantine”.

Seven has so far remained largely tight-lipped about all Big Brother VIP speculation – but did release a statement to news.com.au back when reports surfaced that Meghan Markle’s brother Thomas Jr would also be joining the cast.

“We are not commenting on speculation about the cast of Big Brother VIP. All will be revealed soon and Big Brother is looking forward to meeting the new collection of housemates,” the Seven spokesperson said.

“Much of the speculation has been wrong, but it’s important to note that Seven ensures the arrival of international artists in Australia does not impact or impede on Australians returning home from overseas.”

“Any international artists associated with Seven are on arrangements that exist outside of the flight cap on international arrivals and have been granted exemptions by the Government to come here. All our artists also undertake quarantine measures in line with government legislation.

“Much like the arrival of world-class international actors bolstering Australia’s film industry at present, these artists are contributing to the making of leading TV productions, creating jobs for many people at a difficult time for the creative and production sectors.”
