Viewers slam Married At First Sight bride amid explosive cheating scandal

Married At First Sight’s Sara was outed in a web of lies at last night’s explosive dinner party, but viewers have turned their attention to another bride.

Married At First Sight bride Sara Mesa was embroiled in an explosive cheating scandal on Wednesday night’s episode, earning the ire from viewers for lying to her ‘husband’ and failing to apologise once it emerged.

The nutritionist, who is paired with Tim Calwell on the Channel 9 series, was outed at the dinner party for secretly meeting up with her ex-boyfriend – her web of lies unravelling as she attempted to defend her actions.

Fans have hit out at Sara for her “combative” behaviour despite her wrongdoing. But they’ve also raised questions about fellow bride Eden Harper, who chose the very public setting to drop the bombshell.

Eden revealed to a blindsided Tim how Sara had texted her asking for an outfit to wear for her night out with her ex-boyfriend, before adding a ‘shush’ emoji. She said she’d had “anxiety” about harbouring the secret all week and felt compelled to come clean, even at the risk of losing her friendship with Sara.

But viewers have one burning question about Eden’s moral compass:

In response to the cheating saga, Sara told Daily Mail she felt Eden threw her “under the bus”.

“It felt a bit sad to see her throw me under the bus like that and not really talk to me about it beforehand,” she told the publication.

“At the end of the day, it would be emotionally cheating, and I totally take that on. I feel like how I dealt with the situation was completely wrong.”

The brunt of the backlash has largely fallen on Sara, who raised suspicion earlier in the experiment after cancelling three dates with Tim, while refusing to show him her phone in the confessions week challenge.

Tim was blindsided by the betrayal.

During Wednesday’s episode, she was outed for lying to Tim when she told him she had to dog sit for a friend over the weekend.

Adding even more fuel to the fire, it leaks that Sara slept with her ex-boyfriend while he was in a relationship just a few short weeks before she began filming MAFS.

Sara and Tim were going strong in the lead up to the dinner party, having resolved earlier issues and committing to making their union work.

Tim supported Sara during the couples retreat, which aired Tuesday night, amid her claims fellow groom Jack Dunkley made her feel uncomfortable by “tapping” her bum and “kissing” her on the neck.

It’s not the only cheating scandal this season.

Jack, who is matched with Tori Adams on the show, has been accused of being unfaithful to his TV bride during the experiment.

His ex-girlfriend Courtney aired claims on her Instagram earlier this week, suggesting the pair slept together during filming, allegations which have not yet aired on the show.
