MAFS’ Selina and Al spotted on date in previously-unseen picture

An intimate moment that never made it to our screens this season has sparked major confusion over the fate of one of the couples.

A previously-unseen picture taken shortly before the final vows on Married At First Sight and released this week is sparking plenty of confusion among fans.

In the picture, published by Daily Mail, Selina Chhaur and Al Perkins appear to be enjoying an intimate date in a restaurant – despite not being paired together in the experiment.

While Al, 25, and his “wife” on the show, Samantha Moitzi, mutually called it quits before then, Selina, 32, chose to stay with her partner Cody Bromley in the final vows – which were reportedly filmed just a couple of days after the unscheduled meet-up.

Al was spotted sharing a milkshake with Selina.

At one point, the contestants reportedly hugged.

According to the publication, both Al and Selina attempted to avoid being photographed together and even departed via separate exits and headed back to the MAFS hotel in separate cars.

Al was partnered with Samantha on the show but they exited midway through the season.

During Tuesday night’s episode, Selina described Cody as “hot and cold, warm one day and then distant the next” while making her decision on the future of their relationship.

“I’m constantly stuck in a cycle of confusion and unease,” she told him bluntly.

“ … Continuously wondering where I stand with you, and whether you really care about me … You’re a very difficult person to read.”

Selina and Cody have had a rocky relationship on the show.

Despite those words, Selina ultimately decided to stay with Cody.

“Being with you has taught me so much about myself and truly made me a better, stronger, more resilient person,” she said.

“We’ve had some shocking lows and blows. But to your credit, you’ve stuck by my side, when you’ve had so many opportunities to write ‘leave’ every week.”

Al and Selina’s surprising rendezvous isn’t the first unplanned outing to spark rumours of a “couple swap” on the show.

Earlier in the season, Brent Vitiello was forced to address rumours that he and “wife” Tamara Djordjevic had traded partners with Ella Ding and Mitch Eynaud after both pairs were spotted spending time together.

Brent and Ella surprised fans with their cosy beach date on Valentine’s Day, while Tamara and Mitch reportedly “appeared close” as they were seen hanging out together on the Gold Coast.

Brent and Tamara’s turbulent relationship has since ended on the show, while Ella was left disappointed during Tuesday night’s final vows episode when Mitch refused to make a commitment to her.
