Brent Vitiello weighs in on rumours of a couple swap

Married At First Sight contestant Brent Vitiello has finally addressed rumours of a “couple swap” on the show, after he was snapped looking intimate with a fellow contestant’s partner on Valentine’s Day.

The Sydney-based hospitality manager, who is matched with Tamara Djordjevic on Nine’s reality series, was seen rubbing sunscreen into Ella Ding’s back as the two enjoyed what appeared to be a beach date on February 14.

Ella is currently “married” to Mitch Eynaud on MAFS – who, in a twist, was reportedly spotted on the Gold Coast last week with Tamara. According to New Idea, Tamara and Mitch “appeared close as they enjoyed the day together”.

Addressing the scandalous rumours in a video obtained by Yahoo Lifestyle, Brent denied a couple swap had taken place, claiming he and Ella are “just good friends”.

He added of their beach date: “What [people] didn’t see is the fact that [fellow MAFS star Domenica Calarco] was there as well. Dom was there the whole day, she was just cut out [of the pictures].”

Brent also weighed in on reports that Tamara and Mitch had been spending time together, admitting that he’d seen that had happened on “multiple occasions”.

“Why not? Um, good luck to them, I guess,” he said in the video, before suggesting that he and Tamara had not broken up, despite the persistent speculation and the fact he wasn’t wearing his ring at the time.

“We’re OK. We’re doing good,” Brent said. “Civil, good … long distance … I just came from the gym, so I take [the ring] off while I train.”

It comes after both couples’ relationships hit a rocky patch in Sunday’s commitment ceremony.

During the explosive meeting, Brent told the experts that Tamara had “stood over me and called me a c**t”, which his “wife” strenuously denied.

Meanwhile, the experts took Mitch to task during his session for being “demeaning” and condescending”.

Married At First Sightcontinues tonight at 7.30pm on Nine.
