The 30-year-old personal trainer was on-air in the studio alongside his controversial MAFS love interest, Carolina Santos, 33, whom he formed a relationship with while she was still ‘married’ to Dion Giannarelli on the show.

Daniel’s prickly conversation with the Sydney radio duo began when he brought up an interview Carolina did with them earlier this month, in which Fitzy and Wippa accused her of “hanging up” on them after they questioned her about her affair.

Daniel – who left the experiment weeks ago but reappeared last night for the chaotic boys’ night – turned the tables on the pair, claiming it was them who hung up on Carolina. Here’s how the awkward conversation played out:

Daniel and Wippa faced off on radio this morning.

Fitzy: Why did you have to go back into the experiment?

Daniel: Because I like to face things, same thing with you, like you hung up on Carolina live on [radio] for a headline, and now we’re here. You should be apologising to her, I’ve got screenshots of her straight away get trying to get back online.

Wippa: No, no, no, no, no, no. Daniel let me jump in buddy, that did not happen.

Daniel: How come you didn’t let her back online straight away then?

Wippa: Channel 9 didn’t. So Carolina, you didn’t hang up on us then?

Carolina: I definitely did not.

Wippa: We’ve never hung up on a guest.

Daniel: I’ll tell you guys right now. That kind of stuff doesn’t affect Carolyn whatsoever, so to imply that she hung up …

Wippa: We did not hang up on Carolina. On my kids’ lives, we did not hang up on Carolina.

Daniel: All right man. All right I believe you.

Wippa: You good with that? And Carolina didn’t hang up with us. So we move on.

Daniel Holmes and Carolina Santos had an affair on this year’s MAFS.

The interview in question took place earlier this month, in which the hosts had an excruciatingly awkward chat with Carolina as Fitzy took her to task with a rather brutal question.

He said: “Now Carolina. I know this is harsh, but you’ve got a 16-year-old son. Do you think that’s you’re setting a good example for him?”

Crickets.

“Carolina? I think she’s hung up,” Wippa said. “I don’t think she liked the line of questioning; you gave her a bit of a nudge there.”
