‘He’s lying’: MAFS cheating groom Dean’s bizarre defence

EVERYONE is mad at Dean from Married At First Sight after his affair with Davina. But if his latest claims are true, there’s much more to the story.

MARRIED At First Sight’s cheating scandal has been given a bizarre twist, with Dean sensationally blaming another groom for his unfaithfulness.

Dean, who infamously embarked on a secret affair behind his wife Tracey’s back before later changing his mind, claims it was Ryan who encouraged him to go after Davina.

For those that aren’t keeping up: Ryan is Davina’s husband on the show.

Following explosive scenes at this week’s dinner party, Dean insisted on Nine’s chat show Talking Married that Ryan had been in on the whole thing — despite no evidence of the exchange.

When asked by co-host Shelly Horton if he really had given them the green light, Dean was emphatic: “Yeah.”

During last night’s episode, Ryan furiously told Dean to “f**k off” when the latter tried to shake his hand, and later denied his claim that he’d known about Davina’s interest in him.

But Dean claims he’s been doublecrossed.

“Ryan was definitely lying,” he told the Talking Married hosts, who then asked: “So why was he so upset?”

“Why did he get up and walk away, and not actually have the conversation? Because he knew he was lying,” Dean replied. “He didn’t know how to handle it.”

He added that Ryan’s refusal to shake his hand had pushed him over the edge.

“I was willing to let him get away with it, and let bygones be bygones,” Dean said.

“But once he did that, I was like, nah, sorry, you’re not getting away with it ... You don’t act one way in private and another way in front of anybody, so I called him out on it.”

It was delivered without a hint of irony, despite the fact everyone turned on Dean for doing exactly that to his wife.

Tracey decided to stay after Dean dropped his bombshell.

On Wednesday, the controversial contestant also revealed why he’d decided to stay with Tracey and ditch Davina at the last minute.

“Davina’s a lovely girl, but she scared me off,” Dean admitted to Kyle and Jackie O.

“She came on really strong, she said she wanted to marry me ... She didn’t even really know me and it just scared me off, and made me really think about everything.”
