Here’s what was really in those mystery texts that caused MAFS showdown

IT WAS the biggest mystery of the reunion party, and caused a huge blow-up between Sean and Dean. Now, Tracey’s finally spilled on what was in the controversial messages from her ex.

MAFS Ep 31 Recap: A Riotous Reunion

DURING last night’s explosive Married At First Sight reunion, there was plenty of chatter about some mysterious texts between Dean Wells and Tracey Jewel.

The two former spouses had broken up six weeks’ earlier, during which time Tracey had begun dating another contestant — Sean Thomsen. And Sean didn’t waste any time before he confronted Dean about the messages he’d supposedly been sending Tracey.

Over a beer, it seemed that Dean was trying to smooth over any awkwardness with his ex’s new boyfriend.

“I’ve learned a lot during this,” he told Sean, adding that he and Tracey spoke nearly every day. “Tracey and I have a good friendship now.”

“No, you didn’t,” Sean snapped back. “You didn’t learn anything. You and her aren’t friends. She’s texted you to say, ‘Please stop harassing me’.”

Dean was stunned by his response — and later, when he approached Tracey to ask about it, was given no answers. In fact, she was very friendly toward him.

Dean and Tracey’s cosy conversation infuriated Sean even more, and later, he pulled Dean aside to tell him to stop “f***ing lying” and again referred to these mysterious texts he’d been sending Tracey.

Anyone hoping for answers during last night’s episode were left very disappointed, but finally — the truth has been revealed.

In an interview with Fitzy and Wippa this morning, Tracey opened up about what Dean had been sending her.

“I have been in contact with Dean, and yes we have been texting this whole time, and he did send me inappropriate messages because he knew Sean and me were together,” she told the Nova hosts.

Tracey explained that she’d been vague about the contents of the messages at the dinner party because she didn’t want to ignite more drama.

“It was out of respect for Dean, I played it down. [The messages] were just inappropriate, involving the girls Dean was seeing. He knew I was with Sean and he was sending me what he was doing, and that was inappropriate. Like, I don’t need to know.”

Sean also weighed in, claiming Tracey was upset because she had been trying to stay friends with Dean in order to make their media appearances easier.

“She knew everything would come up and they’d have to do [interviews] together, but he kept sending these messages, and that’s what made me so angry ... And he kept bringing [the messages] up at the dinner party to everyone else.”

If it sounds like there’s more to this story — there absolutely is.

According to Tracey, viewers will “find out everything in the final episode, although she did have one warning.

“Dean does have a history of lying, that’s all I’m going to say.”

Married At First Sight continues at 7.30pm tonight on Nine.
