Married At First Sight groom Jesse Burford is facing backlash over his “foul” off-camera remarks to his new bride, Claire Nomarhas.

The outspoken 30-year-old marriage celebrant stunned 31-year-old Claire – and viewers – when he “shushed” her for being “too loud” at the airport on their way to their honeymoon.

While they were waiting for their plane to take them to the Whitsundays, Jesse told Claire “a few times” to quieten down, leaving her upset and needing to “second guess” everything she was saying.

“Like, am I being too loud?” the kindergarten assistant asked producers tearfully.

Meanwhile, Jesse complained to producers during their honeymoon that his new “wife” seemed “unaware of how loud she’s speaking” and that he needed some “silence”.

Viewers quickly flocked to Twitter to share their outrage over his disrespectful remarks.

The situation was more promising at Dan and Sandy’s wedding on Tuesday night, with the pair hitting it off instantly.

Sandy, 36, had been feeling anxious that her new husband wouldn’t be accepting of her Indian culture, but was relieved when he immediately eased her concerns and made her feel “safe” and “empowered”.

Meanwhile, Dan gushed that she seemed to be “very much a trailblazer”.

“It’s something I very much respect and admire,” he said.

“I feel so lucky to experience Sandy’s culture and her background, that’s something that really interests and excites me.”
