Fans are falling in love with a MAFS husband, with some saying he’s the best man to ever have been cast on the show.

During Sunday night’s commitment ceremony Duncan appeared on the couch next to wife Alyssa to talk about their relationship. Up until now it had appeared as though the couple had mostly been getting along well, despite some challenges.

A distraught Alyssa then accused him of ignoring her at the couples retreat and failing to check in with her while he was playing tennis with the other husbands.

“I didn’t feel like we were the couple that we normally are,” she said through tears.

“I didn’t feel like we spent much time together, which makes me feel like I’m not a priority, like he’s not thinking of me.

“ … I have a child”.

She then got up to leave, saying: “I feel sick”.

Duncan followed her to the elevator.

“I wanna go, I wanna leave,” she sobbed. “Please leave me alone.”

“If you want to go I understand, I want to be there for you … Do you not want me to com-” he asked, as she got in the lift.

Upon his return to the couch, he was asked by the experts where his wife went.

“Ahhh … she’s left,” he responded.

“She made it clear she needed to leave this space and not wanted me near her and got in the lift. Little things feel like big triggers … It feels like I’m walking on eggshells.”

Then, she returned.

“It’s hard for me to hear my expectations are too much,” she said. “I’ve never dated as a single mum. I do need reassurance and I do need check-ins in order to feel like they aren’t going to just run away.”

“I felt like at the couple’s retreat no matter what I did was wrong,” Duncan said. “And there’s a dynamic of your family life which is obviously very understandable … like missing your child and being in this experiment and giving up that time and I think that weighs a lot on you and would weigh on anyone.

“So it feels like you second guess more things.”

She responded: “I’m sorry you feel that way ... it makes me feel like a bad person”.

Alessandra said to Alyssa: “Don’t use Duncan’s description of his experience against him”.

The couple then voted to stay and she asked Duncan: “Can we get off the couch, please?”

Expert Mel even called Duncan “one of the most emotionally intelligent guys in the room”.

Viewers rallied around him, saying he is the best man to appear on MAFS and deserves better treatment from his wife.
