Busted: MAFS contestants Ryan and Ashley caught shopping together in Brisbane suburbs

RYAN Gallagher has broken his silence after being busted on what appeared to be a casual date with another Married At First Sight contestant.

MARRIED At First Sight’s Ryan Gallagher has broken his silence after being spotted hanging out with fellow contestant Ashley Irvin, explaining that he’d been the one to reach out to her.

In what could be a massive spoiler alert for fans, the pair was busted yesterday picking up groceries together at a suburban shopping centre.

This might seem like a very minor detail but it’s more explosive than it seems. On the controversial Channel 9 reality series, Ryan has been married to Davina — who cheated on him with Dean — while Ashley is matched with Troy.

And it seems there has been more musical chairs. This week Facebook user Adam Zerafa has captured video of Ryan and Ashley together in the carpark at Marsden shopping centre in Queensland. In the covert footage, the pair can be seen carrying grocery bags to a BMW.

Speaking to the Canberra Times, Ryan said he and Ashley had made plans to catch up while he was working near her home in Queensland.

“I rang her and said, ‘What are you doing?’ And she said, ‘Just playing tennis all day, I’m not working’. And I said, ‘I’ll play tennis, I’m coming,’” he explained.

The tradie also insisted there was nothing romantic going on.

“On the way back, her parents wanted something from Woolies so we stopped in the shops and the video was taken. It looks like we’re bloody going back to our own apartment. But we’re definitely not together. Just friends.”

Despite his denials, the pair certainly looked very cosy together.

In the footage, after putting the bags on the back seat, Ashley spots the fan filming them and laughs at the camera. Looking relaxed and comfortable with each other, the pair show no concern they’ve been busted and slowly get in the car.

It’s a long way from home for Ryan, who works as a tradie and lives in the Sydney beachside suburb of Maroubra. Ashley, who works as a flight attendant, is based in Brisbane.

Ryan and Ashley are married to different people on the series.

It’s not the first partner swap to happen on the latest series of the show. Dean and Davina caused national outrage when their affair played out on TV screens — without their partners Tracey or Ryan knowing.

Earlier this month, Ashley’s husband Troy also raised eyebrows when he was photographed getting very intimate with contestant Carly — who’s married to Justin on the show.
