Baffling MAFS editing fail leaves fans confused and fuming

The man at the centre of MAFS’ cheating scandal erupted in a fiery scene during the explosive dinner party – but what happened next was truly bizarre.

MAFS wife exposed with secret affair texts

There was certainly enough drama to keep us all entertained in Sunday night’s penultimate Married At First Sight, but one fiery confrontation almost slipped through the cracks and left viewers at home baffled.

During the explosive final dinner party, controversial couple Carolina Santos and Daniel Holmes were back in the firing line as they faced the group after secretly hooking up despite not being paired together on the show.

After being lashed by Carolina’s “jilted” former partner, Dion Giannerelli, a furious Daniel jumped up and began shouting at the group: “You’re all f …”, with the expletive censored, before the camera cut away and the show went to an ad break.

When the show returned from the commercials, rather than pick up where it had left off mid-scene, it had bizarrely moved on to an unrelated conversation between Domenica Calarco and Jack Millar.

Understandably, the anticlimactic moment left plenty of viewers confused - while others were thrilled that Daniel’s rant had been cut out.

Meanwhile, dramatic scenes also erupted between ex-“spouses” Brent Vitiello and Tamara Djordjevic, after Brent exposed Tamara’s failed attempt to “pick up” Ella Ding’s partner, Mitch Eynaud, who he claimed “rejected” her.

“When you texted me, I was hanging out with Brent every day,” Mitch explained to Tamara.

“And I just felt the need just to (tell him) … (it) was playing on my mind.”

Tamara attempted to defend herself, offering a convoluted explanation which seemed to suggest an unnamed friend had been the one pushing her to invite Mitch out: “That wasn’t even me! Sam was there as well! That was our mutual friend — invited Mitch and her.”

However, Brent quickly added further details about the embarrassing exchange.

“When (Mitch) said he didn’t feel right about it, didn’t you jump in and say, ‘Just so you know, I feel no feelings for Brent whatsoever and I know you’re with Ella but blah blah blah. So you should really come — it’ll be a good time’. I saw the messages,” he told his former “wife”.

Later, Brent assured producers the messages weren’t as innocent as Tamara had tried to claim.

“She tried to get with another husband,” he said. “Mitch rejected her. Mitch told me straight away. She’s going (to say) it was for friends, but I’ve seen every text message — it wasn’t for friends.”

The final Married At First Sight episode will air tonight at 7.30pm on Nine.
