‘Snake’: Uproar over MAFS texting scandal

When MAFS groom Brent walked in to the dinner party reunion, he couldn’t wait to drop a bomb about his former wife. But there was another twist.

When Married At First Sight groom Brent walked in to Sunday night’s dinner party reunion, he couldn’t wait to drop a bomb about former wife Tamara, but there were more surprises to come that viewers never could have predicted.

But first came some nitpicking from her about the way Brent was dressed, along with a vile comment she made to another member of the group: “Yuck, I hate the smell of him … he’s still wearing jackets that are too long.”

Prior to the dinner party, Brent had revealed he had something pressing on his mind that he couldn’t wait to reveal.

“Tamara tried to get with another husband while we were in the show,” he said.

“It started with a few texts, she didn’t waste any time trying to meet with this person. I saw the texts.

“She was definitely quite keen. It shows the type of person she is.”

Brent said of the dinner party: “I do expect fireworks”.

It was later revealed that the other husband was Mitch.

When it came time for Brent to confront Tamara about her attempted hook-up with Mitch, she tried to dodge the question and laugh it off.

She even claimed that it was actually Mitch that called her at 2am, but it turned out he had called all of the group, a twist that viewers loved.

Twitter user Michell wrote: “Tamara thinking she did something by pulling out the ‘Mitch called me at 2am card’ only to have everyone laugh in her face has brought me more serotonin than I could’ve ever imagined.”

Brent was ready for fireworks.

Mitch said of the awkward situation: “She texted me, we have mutual friends but something didn’t sit right.”

And then, when Tamara said she thought that Ella and Mitch had broken up as a justification for getting in contact with him, many felt her real intentions had been outed.

Some viewers lashed out at Tamara, feeling that she displayed nastier behaviour than Olivia.

And others agreed with Ella’s comment on the show that Tamara was a “snake”.

And there was another twist; viewers rejoiced in the moment when Al burped at Tamara when she criticised him for being “disrespectful” by standing to talk to a member of the group instead of sitting, leaving her stunned into silence.
