Kyle Richards’ husband breaks silence over ‘rough’ marriage

Mauricio Umansky addressed speculation about his marriage during a live TV performance while Kyle Richards was sat in the audience.

Kyle Richards’ husband, Mauricio Umansky, has broken his silence over the pair’s “rough” year of marriage. 

The Netflix reality star is currently competing in the latest series of Dancing With The Stars in the US. 

During Tuesday night’s episode of the competition, Umansky didn’t shy away from addressing the rampant speculation surrounding his relationship with Beverly Hills star Richards.

He told viewers that his appearance on the show had come at just the right time and had helped him to take his mind off their “rough year”. 

Speaking directly to the camera, the property mogul said: “We’ve been going through a rough year and I really hope Dancing With The Stars will get my mind off it and help me have fun.”

Umansky made the blunt remark about their marriage while estranged wife Richards sat in the audience to show her support. 

One viewer tweeted: “She looked annoyed,” in reference to the camera cutting to Richards after Umansky’s remark.

Ahead of the live show, the Real Housewives star said during an Amazon Live Q&A appearance that she was hopeful he would get far in the competition.

“I will be there cheering Mauricio on with my girls. I feel like he’s gonna do great,” she said.

“He’s very excited,” the reality TV star continued. “He’s really, really enjoying that, so I will be there cheering him on for sure.” 

The couple stunned Real Housewives fans earlier this year when they confirmed their separation in a joint statement on Instagram. 

Richards previously said that the experience had been “hard” to deal with, but insisted that the pair still care for each other after such a lengthy marriage.

She said: “This has been very hard to do [because] it’s playing out with so many people having eyes on us and being in the public eye. Obviously, we care about each other a lot.”
