Kendall Jenner finally breaks her silence over tone-deaf Pepsi ad

THE aftermath of Kendall Jenner’s incredibly tone-deaf Pepsi ad has finally been revealed on the family’s reality show.

KENDALL Jenner was devastated after she got blasted for her controversially tone-deaf Pepsi commercial this spring.

“It feels like my life is over,” Jenner is seen telling older sister Kim Kardashian in a preview for the 14th season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Kardashian is pictured attempting to console her 21-year-old sister, saying, “You made a mistake.”

The ad, which Pepsi ended up pulling, showed the E! reality star using a can of Pepsi to somehow end a standoff between cops and protesters.

Jenner’s breakdown on the reality show comes after the family were rumoured to have edited out any footage from Keeping Up With The Kardashians that featured the model addressing the backlash.

In a candid feature in The Hollywood Reporter last month, her big sister Kim Kardashian said Jenner did not let the footage go to air.

“We’re not perfect, but you see these things in the media, like Kendall and [her Pepsi ad that was accused of trivialising Black Lives Matter], where I see her at home crying,” Kim said.

“But in the media she looks another way because she’s not addressing it. I’m just like, ‘This is wrong. You need to speak up.’ She was like, ‘I don’t ever want to show that footage of me crying.’ She was trying to not make excuses or be dramatic, but that was what she was going through at the time.”

The spot was harshly criticised on social media for being insensitive and tone-deaf regarding the current tumultuous political climate and groups such as Black Lives Matter.

Pepsi apologised for the ad by saying, “Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologise. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are removing the content and halting any further rollout.”
