Julia Morris ‘angered’ Channel 10 bosses with shock move

Julia Morris decided to have a fresh start after her divorce, and her actions reportedly annoyed bosses.

Julia Morris reportedly angered her bosses at Channel 10 last year after she shocked them with a surprise post-divorce move.

The 55-year-old shocked fans when she unveiled her short pixie cut in December last year.

Her decision to chop off her hair came shortly after she announced her split from her ex-husband, Dan Thomas, whom she had been with for 16 years.

It’s believed that Channel Ten and ITV producers were “left horrified” after seeing Morris showed off her new hairstyle without asking for their permission to switch-up her look.

The presenter had wanted to look like Gwyneth Paltrow in Sliding Doors, however, according to Daily Mail Australia, producers wanted her to keep her iconic brunette bob “because it made her look feminine and appealing”.

With the new series of I’m A Celebrity looming, producers pushed Morris to dye her hair blonde to match her new co-host, Robert Irwin.

Irwin was announced as the new host last week and is stepping in for Morris’ former co-star, Dr Chris Brown.

Robert has reportedly been a massive fan of the show since he appeared in the jungle in 2016 as a guest on the show alongside his mum, Terri, and sister Bindi.

“I’m the first to say, this is something new for me, but that’s what makes it so exciting,” he said of his new gig.

“Wildlife and conservation is my life, and I have a huge love of Africa. To be able to bring that experience and love for the wildlife over there is going to be great.”

News of Irwin joining I’m A Celeb was confirmed at today’s 10 Upfronts, along a host of other big announcements about what’s to come for the network. Among them: The newly-rebooted Gladiators, coming early in 2024, and a new season of Australian Survivor – this one with a ‘Titans vs. Rebels’ theme.

MasterChef, Hunted, and Amazing Race: Celebrity Edition are all returning, while Grant Denyer’s getting a new gig as the brand new host of Deal or No Deal.
