Julia Morris jokes she won’t be asked back next year on Celebrity Gogglebox after on-set stunt
Julia Morris reckons she won’t be invited back on Celebrity Gogglebox Australia after she stripped down in an on-set stunt.
The new Celebrity Gogglebox Australia offering hasn’t even premiered yet, but already one of its stars fear they won’t be invited back next year.
Julia Morris – who is among the cast to return for the yearly special benefiting the mental health charity service, ReachOut Australia – said a near-nudie run may stop her from making a third appearance on the show next year.
“I’m not going to be invited back,” she tells news.com.au ahead of the show’s premiere this evening on Foxtel, and encore screening on Thursday night on Channel Ten.
Just like the 2022 series, Morris pairs up with comedian Nazeem Hussain. But this time their fellow comedian, Urzila Carlson, is also along for the couch-surf.
Morris’ stunt occurs when the trio are shown a clip of Ten’s Masked Singer Australia. She joked to her couch mates that if she guessed the celebrity behind the mask, then she would strip down and run around the kitchen. Needless to say, she guessed correctly.
“Quite early in the piece, they show us The Masked Singer with a reveal coming up. There were a couple of names being bandied about and I said, ‘If that is that person, I will take off my dress and do a lap of the kitchen in my underwear,’” she shared.
“And then it turned out to be that person. And all I’m saying is... I did semi-commit. So I will not be invited back.”

Among the returning famous faces in tonight’s special episode are Olympian Dylan Alcott and his mate MasterChef Australia judge Andy Allen, Australian Idol’s Anthony Callea and his husband, former Home and Away star Tim Campbell.
Dave “Hughesy” Hughes is also back but without his wife Holly Ife. Instead, he will be joined by his former work wife, Kate Langbroek.
And Australia’s unofficial First Family, The Irwins – Terri, Bindi and Robert – also return for another season.
Speaking to news.com.au. Robert says there were times he felt uncomfortable sitting on the couch with his mum Terri and sister Bindi, given the choice of viewing material.
“Some of the stuff we watched... sitting on a couch with your mum and your sister, there were some awkward times, I’m not going to lie,” he tells us.
The new faces among this year’s cast includes radio stars Carrie Bickmore and Fifi Box, comedians Anne Edmonds and Lloyd Langford, The Great Australian Bake Off judge Darren Purchese and host Natalie Tran, and The Real Housewives of Sydney stars Krissy Marsh and Nicole O’Neil.
Celebrity Gogglebox Australia streams on Foxtel on Wednesday, October 25 at 7.30pm, with an encore set to air on Channel 10 on Thursday at 8.30pm.
