Joel Creasey spills on I’m A Celebrity campmates’ sneaky trick
I’m A Celeb fans were shocked to learn the show’s first winner cheated his way to the crown. But he wasn’t the only campmate lying to producers.
Former I’m A Celebrity contestant Joel Creasey has revealed 2015 winner Freddie Flintoff wasn’t the only one lying to producers.
The English cricket star stunned fans recently when he admitted that he’d faked being a smoker in order to leave the camp several times a day and get fresh water, while his unknowing campmates were left behind.

Addressing the bombshell revelation on Nova’s Summer Breakfast Show with Matt de Groot, Sarah McGilvray and Matt “Matty J” Johnson today, Flintoff’s former campmate jokingly claimed he was “furious” when he found out the truth.
“If I’d known, I would have taken up smoking, because getting off camera means you could go away, chill out, vent, not the say those crazy things you want to say to people on camera,” Creasey said.

Last week, Flintoff described how he lied about being afraid of frogs to make the challenges easier, and that he’d falsely claimed to be a smoker so he could get some personal time away from the group — and the cameras. During his “smoke breaks”, he’d spotted a clean water fountain next to the medical tent and began filling up his bottle “five times” a day.
“Meanwhile, me and Chrissie Swan are bloody boiling up water, and then waiting for it to cool down. It was a nightmare. I’m so angry with him,” Creasey told the radio hosts this morning.
However, the comedian admitted his hands weren’t exactly clean — in fact, Creasey and some of his campmates had come up with a sneaky little trick of their own on the show.
“I don’t know if any of us have ever discussed this story, but Andrew Daddo somehow snuck a block of chocolate into camp,” he said.
“We kept it hidden in a sanitary box in the toilet, because it was the only safe place away from producers.
“We all had like a little wink when there was chocolate back in the box, and you could go and grab some out. It was the most bizarre thing.”
The Take Me Out host also revealed how he’d planned to get hypnotherapy to help him out in the jungle.
“The only thing I was going to do before the show was have hypnotherapy, because I have a real fear of snakes — but then I missed my appointment because I was hungover.”
I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! premieres on Ten on Sunday, January 13.
