Who will be entering the jungle on I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! in 2019?

In a surprise announcement, one very familiar TV presenter will be entering the jungle — so who could it be?

Famous foodie entering I'm A Celeb jungle

Well guys, it’s (almost) that time of year again — when I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! returns to TV.

While we know so far that controversial politicians, a famous foodie, comedian, footy player and a gossip guru will be in the mix, a new clue from Channel 10 has revealed a “familiar” TV presenter will be joining them in the jungle.

Keep reading to find out the clues and news.com.au’s top picks. If you want to stay updated on all the I’m A Celebrity goss make sure you sign up to our entertainment newsletter.

CLUE: TV PRESENTER

A familiar face to Australian households, this handsome host is also known for his acting appearances and taking out a popular reality show. Mic drop.

Stepping away from the spotlight and into the unpredictable South African terrain will be a world away from what this celebrity is used to. Break a leg (actually please don’t!).

GUESS: While there might be two presenters who now have more spare time on their hands (ahem, Karl and Peter Stefanovic), this clue rules out a lot of TV personalities — including Karl and Peter.

Reality TV stars that have gone on to act and TV present include Big Brother turned Neighbours star Blair McDonough or Bachelor sweetheart Sam Frost, who currently has an acting gig on Home And Away.

CLUE: A FULLY SICK COMEDIAN

With barely a moment to switch off for summer, this fully sick comedian will definitely miss his fast food and life’s other luxuries in the jungle. Stepping away from the microphone and thrown into the wilds of the jungle with a bunch of dysfunctional celebrities will be no laughing matter. ROFL, who could it be?

GUESS: OK, we might be reading too much into this but fast food, fully sick — could it be one of the stars of Fat Pizza? Our money is on series creator and star Paul Fenech.

Other possibilities include The Project’s Tommy Little or Have You Been Paying Attention? stars Sam Pang or Ed Kavalee.

CLUE: FAMOUS FOODIE

This celebrity cook, television personality and author will be full of beans. But how will their palette cope when they’re faced with meagre rations of rice and beans?

GUESS: Which famous chef wouldn’t we want to see enter the jungle? This could be anyone from Nigella Lawson, Donna Hay or Maggie Beer.

But while we’d love to see Nigella taking part in a trial our money is someone from Ten’s cooking show MasterChef.

Former contestants we could see going into the jungle include Hayden Quinn, Brent Owens, Dan Churchill, Poh Ling Yeow or judge Matt Preston.

CLUE: GOSSIP GURU

A red carpet regular is getting their summer holiday cut short! This celebrity will be doing more than just dishing the dirt.

GUESS: Possible contestants include US gossip blogger Perez Hilton or Network 10’s entertainment reporter Angela Bishop, although it’s unlikely Bishop would miss covering the awards season.

UPDATE: It’s definitely not Perez — or so he sez.

Our money is on Richard Reid, who refers to himself as a “Hollywood Gossip Guru” in his Twitter bio and completed a stint on Celebrity Apprentice in 2015.

CLUE: TWO CONTROVERSIAL POLLIES

From the political jungle … to the African jungle! There’s no time for a summer holiday for these two. From budget deficit … to food deficit, they will be shocked to find out just how political jungle life can be.

GUESS: Plenty to choose from here, with One Nation’s Mark Latham and Pauline Hanson immediately springing to mind when you think of controversial political figures.

But it seems unlikely either would take part as they are still active in politics, making it more probable to be someone who has left parliament.

Mr Latham will be busy campaigning for a seat in the NSW senate ahead of the March state election while Ms Hanson will need to appear in the federal senate in February.

Our money is on former Labor senator Sam Dastyari, who retired from politics last year or Tasmanian Jacqui Lambie who was one of the politicians caught up in the dual citizenship scandal.

CLUE: FOOTY LEGEND

An AFL champion who’s known for his hair raising play, he won’t be kicking goals when he’s snatched from his summer break.

GUESS: Well, it’s got to be a footy player that’s famous for his hair right? Our money is on either Warwick Capper or Peter ‘Spider’ Everitt.

I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! premieres on Sunday, January 13, which is exciting because it means there is something else to watch besides the tennis.
