I’m a Celeb: Ryan Gallagher opens up about Davina Rankin “cheating” on him on MAFS

Davina Rankin’s “ex husband” Ryan Gallagher has given no holds barred account of his time on MAFS, dishing on the season’s explosive cheating scandal.

As excruciating boredom sets in and nerves are tested around the I’m A Celeb campsite, the stars are becoming more and more loose-lipped.

Tonight, ex-Married At First Sight star Ryan Gallagher proves unable to hold back on spilling the tea from his dramatic season, becoming animated as he marvels over the “cheating” scandal that rocked the social experiment in 2018.

After “marrying” Queenslander Davina Rankin – the “villain” of the explosive season – Gallagher was dumped for fellow contestant Dean Wells, who had been paired with Tracey Jewel.

Twisting the knife, Davina opted to stay in the competition to pursue Dean, forcing Ryan to live with his unfaithful “wife” for an added week.

The scandal, involving a secret kiss at a dinner party between Dean and Davina, saw viewers turn on Davina making her “the most hated woman in Australia” at one point.

As fellow I’m A Celeb contestant Miguel probed the former reality star about his “marriage” to Davina, asking if there were any feelings involved, Ryan was quick to share his side of the story.

“We were on the honeymoon, and we were intimate and stuff like that … you sorta got lost in the moment,” he explained.

“And as we were flying back, as we were landing she said, ‘You know when we get back, we meet other people and you can hook up with anyone’,” he said, dropping his jaw and shrugging to express his disbelief.

Weighing in from the sidelines, Tom Williams turned to Ryan’s new-found jungle love interest, UK reality star Charlotte Crosby.

“Charlotte, she ran off with another man,” he said.

“I wanna watch it,” Charlotte responded.

Bringing the conversation back to the scandal, Miguel then asked if “the other guy was good-looking”, before realising the contestant in question was Dean, who is remembered for his cringe-worthy rap to Tracey early on in the show.

“Oh the weird guy with the rap,” Miguel yelled, laughing.

“Oh my god, she went with the rap guy? … With the ginger beard?,” he exclaimed, miming throwing up on the ground.

Ryan continued: “It was awkward, because you both have to hold leave, and she wrote stay because she wanted to be with Dean and I’m like … I’ve got to live with her for a whole week (she) had to meet my parents, knowing she just cheated on me, I had to take her to my parents’ place, and I’ve only introduced like four girls to my family.”

Davina, 29, welcomed her first child, a girl named Mila-Mae Manuel, with boyfriend Jax Manuel in November.

Meanwhile, Ryan and Charlotte have been dubbed this year’s “jungle couple”, but viewers aren’t convinced their connection is genuine.
