Gogglebox cast lose it over raunchy Netflix hit Bridgerton
This Netflix smash hit has been touted as the show not to watch with your parents, but it seems the Gogglebox cast missed the memo.
Bridgerton has fast become the breakout series of the year, so it made sense the Gogglebox cast tuned in on last night’s season premiere.
But given most of the households on the reality show are families, the Netflix period series was a questionable choice as it’s famed for its explicit sex scenes.
For those who have not yet devoured Bridgerton, in the opening scenes the eldest Bridgerton sibling, Anthony, is seen getting hot and heavy with a woman against a tree in broad daylight.
And it’s safe to say the couch critics were stunned.
“What am I watching?” said Chantel, who shares the lounge with her best friend Kaday.
“Oh my god!” Sarah Marie screeched.

Watching it alongside her husband Matt and two daughters Millie and Holly, mum Kate seemed unphased by the X-rated scene.
“It’s very raunchy, no wonder everyone at book club loves it,” she said.
Tim told his sister Leanne, “It’s like Downton Abbey with a touch of Pornhub.”

Meanwhile, Keith turned to his wife Lee with a raunchy suggestion: “We’ve got a tree in the backyard.”
Elsewhere in the series, the cast of Gogglebox were extremely impressed with British-Zimbabwean actor Rege-Jean Page, aka the Duke of Hastings, who has achieved a meteoric rise from unknown actor to global heart-throb.

“The Duke of good looking,” Di corrected.
“Look at that piece of flesh,” Anastasia said.
While 92-year-old Emmie Silbery simply declared, “Wow”.
The Goggleboxers were also pleased with the use of colourblind casting. Despite the series being set in the 1800s, there are mixed races in positions of power. Namely, Queen Charlotte, who is played by Gyanese-British actress Golda Rosheuvel.
“Look at the queen! She black!,” Kaday said, while Tim freaked, “Oh my god an Asian! An Asian is on there!”
