‘Bullied’: Block stars Mitch and Mark slam the judges

Mitch and Mark are furious after finishing last in the guest bedroom challenge and they’ve found support from an unlikely group.

Tempers are rising on The Block.

Past contestants Mitch and Mark were given a dismal score for their guest bedroom reveal on Sunday night’s episode of The Block, and they’re absolutely furious about it.

During Monday’s episode, their fellow contestants agreed the judging of the experienced renovators’ room was quite harsh.

“Mitch and Mark are not happy, and I can’t blame them because they really got slaughtered. They got punished at judging, it was so extreme,” Georgia told the camera at the start of the episode.

“Their judging of Mitch and Mark did seem incredibly harsh,” agreed Kirsty. “Seemed a bit unnecessary.”

“We got bullied actually,” Mitch tells the camera.

“We actually felt hurt,” agreed Mark.

“We felt picked on, we felt unnecessarily slapped around,” Mitch continued. “We know good and bad design, and we don’t want to get into disputing their stupid claims,” he added.

Mark added: “We are confident in what we do and we have done 15/16 years of property flipping which means we understand real estate as well. We felt bullied and attacked. If they wanted to hurt us, they’ve done a good job.”

During the judging, Shaynna Blaze, Neil Whittaker and Darren Palmer had nothing nice to say about the bedroom

“Neil’s first impression of your room is that it feels very small,” host Scott Cam told Mitch and Mark during the feedback session.

“Not the detail I would have expected from Mitch and Mark,” added Darren.

Shaynna wasn’t impressed, solely focused on the lit candle sitting underneath the drapes, calling it a “fire hazard”.

“I feel like this room is quite generic,” added Neil.

However, the other contestants didn’t quite agree with the judges, after inspecting the bedroom during Monday night’s episode.

“I would not say this is bland at all, they have pink wardrobes for god’s sake,” said Kirsty. “How is that bland? I don’t think Mitch and Mark deserve the harsh criticism they got from the judges, I think the judges must have been drunk when looking at their room.”

“If this was my guest bedroom I’d be very happy,” said Tanya as she and Vito inspected the room.

“I didn’t think they deserved to come last at all,” she added.

“I love this room!” exclaimed Ronnie. “Compare that to the other houses, I think it’s absolute bullsh*t,” he continued.
