Australian Survivor star Janine’s cunning secret plan revealed

This is next-level petty: Boost Juice founder Janine Allis just got very public revenge on those who voted her out of Survivor.

This is next-level petty.

Boost Juice founder Janine Allis was booted from Australian Survivor on Monday night’s episode, narrowly missing a top five placing. Allis suffered a blindside when tribemates Harry, Luke, Baden and Abbey conspired to vote against her — only her last remaining ally Pia Miranda had her back.

But Allis got her very public revenge yesterday, when her company Boost Juice announced a special deal for customers.

All customers nationwide could order a drink for the reduced price of $5.50 — everyone, that is, execpt Harry, Luke, Baden and Abbey:

SAVAGE.

Janine herself left a one-word comment under Boost’s post — “Ha.” — but we’re choosing to believe it was the godmother herself who orchestrated this hilariously petty revenge.

Speaking to news.com.au yesterday, Allis admits she was “bordering on scared” before competing on the current season of Australian Survivor.

So the 54-year-old, who has an estimated net worth of $66 million, battled her nerves by doing what she does best: Prepare, prepare, prepare.

Janine — who lasted 44 days in the competition before being voted out in last night’s episode, just shy of the top five — enlisted some serious muscle to help ready her for the harsh conditions in the game.

“I got an ex-Navy seal who talked to me about how you actually deal with your mental capacity when you’re out in the elements. He was great. I did an eight-minute intensive workout every day. I kept my yoga going. I swam three times a week. I didn’t go crazy, but I certainly lifted my fitness regime,” Janine told news.com.au today.

“I also studied materials — what materials can actually cope (in the elements). You’re not allowed to take any wet weather gear, so I was researching — is it silk, wool, merino wool? What is the best material to dry quickly and doesn’t smell?”

The preparations continued once she’d travelled to Fiji — she arrived “24 hours before anyone else” and enlisted the services of a local villager for some crucial last-minute prep.

“He helped me understand how to crack a coconut, how to make fire, how to build a shelter. He was amazing. I wanted to go in with my hand on my heart and say I’d done everything I could to prepare for this extreme experience,” she said.

In fact, Janine said she was shocked many of the other contestants hadn’t gone to similar lengths.

“I was staggered — some people hadn’t done any exercise, or hadn’t thought about their clothes so they were freezing. I just assumed everyone would go to my level.”

It’s one thing to prepare for Survivor, but it’s another to actually win the game — and given her successful backstory, Janine said she knew it would be a tough sell convincing a jury of her fellow contestants that she truly deserved to take home the $500,000 and the title of sole Survivor.

Aussies love an underdog — who’d pick a millionaire businesswoman over, say, Luke Toki, who’s eager to pocket the money to provide a better life for his baby daughter, diagnosed with cystic fibrosis?

Fiercely competitive, mum-of-four Janine entered Survivor to win, and had a two-pronged plan to do it.

First, getting to the final two: Janine revealed she spent much of her time on Survivor — in scenes that were not aired — “telling anyone who’d listen that I’d be the perfect number two to get to the final with, because no one would give me the money.”

If that convincing had worked and she’d made it all the way to the final two, she’d then reveal her trump card to win over the jury.

“At that point, I’d take the money off the table and tell them I was going to give it to charity. That then meant they could look at who plays the best game, and take the emotion out of it. I didn’t go there for the money; I went in there for the experience and to win. So I had every intention of giving it all away to charity.”

The other contestants know Survivor favourite Luke is the one to beat.

Had she been able to plead her case to the jury, she thought she had a decent shot of winning.

“A lot of people did moves in a team, but the one thing I did by myself was get Shaun out. In tribal council through my speech, I actually converted people to vote for someone else, so I did have a good Survivor resume to take to the end.

“I think I could probably knock off anyone else if I took the cash off the table... but Luke would’ve been tough to beat.”

Australian Survivor continues 7.30pm tonight on Ten before the final two episodes, next Monday and Tuesday nights.
