AFL legend Gavin Wanganeen joins Australian Survivor: Brains v Brawn
The first castaway for Survivor: Brains v Brawn has been announced, and it looks like they are in it to win it.
AFL Legend Gavin Wanganeen is joining Australian Survivor: Brains v Brawn as a castaway.
Channel 10 made the announcement with a teaser showcasing Gavin, getting us all excited for what is to come in the new season.
Gavin Wanganeen has definitely made his mark on the footy field, and he is now setting his sights firmly on conquering the Aussie Outback.
He may be one of the most prolific players of all time, but does Gavin have what it takes to play one of the hardest games he will ever face and become the Sole Survivor? He seems to think so.

“I want to be the first Indigenous person to win Australian Survivor, how cool would that be?” he says in the trailer.
He was the First Indigenous Australian to win a Brownlow Medal, has been inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame and is also a life member.
The proud father of six is humble at heart and won’t boast about what he’s achieved. As a proud Kokatha Mala man, he might just have what it takes.
“I think people will definitely underestimate me because they’ll think, ‘He’s a dumb ex footballer’. I’m ready to play. The beast comes out, so don’t mess with me,” he warns.
In May, Channel 10 announced that the new season will feature a huge twist: Brains v Brawn.
This means that the castaways will be people who are incredibly brainy and outstanding in their own fields, versing the super buff athletes that are made for the hard physical challenges.
While it seems like the super fit have it all, it’s not just the challenges that are hard, and figuring out strategies will be where the brains excel.
In February, it was announced that this season would be filmed somewhere local after Ten secured government funding to shoot closer to home, due to the global coronavirus pandemic.
Jonathan LaPaglia will return as host.
Survivor: Brains v Brawn is coming soon. Only On 10 And 10 Play On Demand.
