Amazing Race Australia: Contestants in hot air balloon crash
Contestants on the Amazing Race Australia were left reeling when their hot air balloon ride came to a terrifying end in a tough challenge.
Tuesday night’s episode of the Amazing Race Australia sees contestants face a terrifying hot air balloon crash.
Before the teams get into the hot air balloons for a roadblock challenge, dance partners turned racers Jordan and Violeta explain what is ahead of them to the camera.
“I felt pressure taking on this roadblock,” said Violeta. “Jordan is the king of road blocks and I didn’t want to let him down.”

Noticing how fast the hot air balloon is moving over the targets, they realise that the challenge is going to be a lot harder than they initially expected.
“It’s so windy,” says Violeta.
“I was starting to get worried that we were going to be going too fast and we were going to miss the targets,” she says to the camera.
It’s not long before the pilot speaks into his radio, reporting that they aren’t slowing down anytime soon.
“It’s really windy, our hot air balloons are moving too fast,” says Dolor, one half of NSW “power couple” with Holly.
“All right guys, just be ready to tuck everything away,” says the pilot, preparing them for an unexpected landing.

“The wind was causing the hot air balloons to move up in the air and it through everything off course,” one team member explains.
Bracing for impact, the pilot tells them: “Hold onto the handle and face back towards the other balloon.”
The contestants try to ensure the hot air balloon doesn’t crash and flip over, but they’re unsuccessful and their balloon hits a tree at high speed.
