Beau Ryan: Amazing Race Australia star was paid huge sum
Beau Ryan travelled around the most beautiful parts of Australia to film the Amazing Race late last year, and he was paid a hefty sum to do it.
Beau Ryan has a pretty good job.
The former NRL star got to travel around Australia late last year to film Channel 10’s Amazing Race Australia as the show’s host.
Not only did he get to see some of the most beautiful parts of the country while the entire world was on lockdown, he got paid a hefty amount of money for it too.
On Monday, the 35-year-old revealed on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O radio show that he was paid $800,000 to be part of the show.
“When you are getting paid for something, you look at the hours … How long are we working here?” he explained.

Radio host Kyle Sandilands then asked: “Is that what you do? Do you look at that with the Amazing Race and consider how long [you’re away for]?”
“Yeah … [I was away] for two and half to three months and I got paid $800,000,” Beau revealed.
While the contestants, and Beau, revelled in exploring the country for the program, the TV and radio host revealed recently that he was genuinely afraid for his life during some of the high-intensity challenges.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph last month, he said he “tested a lot of the challenges” with a few others before the contestants did them. He said the production staff knew he didn’t like heights so they always made him do those challenges.
Before being part of any challenge, Beau revealed that he filmed goodbye videos for his wife and children just in case anything went terribly wrong.
“We had a social phone we used to record stuff to put out on TenPlay and social media before we do some of the challenges.
“And I always did a farewell piece to camera for my wife and kids, like if something did happen to me and I didn’t survive the abseil or the cliff dive,” he said.
He added: “But I was doing these challenges every second day so there were about 50 farewell videos all up. Lucky for me I didn’t have to use them.”
