The promo photos radio stars would rather forget
WHEN a new radio show is announced the hosts often pose for a promotional shot and more often than not, the photos are awkward.
“THEY don’t take radio promo shots like they did in the late 90s.”
That’s what radio and TV star Jules Schiller wrote on Instagram this week when he shared the photo above from his old Triple M show with Tony Moclair called Crud.
After seeing the classic photo, we gave Jules a call and he explained just how awkward it is to pose for radio promo shots.
“You’ve done the 50 shots that you want to and it’s the last one at the end when the photographer asks for something zany and then that’s the one you see on all the billboards,” he said.
“You can’t let your guard down for a second, that’s the rule, You’ve got to go in there with an Olympic will not to give them the crazy, zany face or you’re gone!”
And what did Jules, who is currently a regular on Triple M’s national drive show Merrick and Australia, have to say about that hairstyle ...
“I think it was a poor attempt at Noel Gallagher’s style from Oasis,” he laughed.
“I think if you look at that photo I’m being weighed down by my fringe, it’s the only reason my shoulders are slumped forward.”
Fear not though Jules, you certainly aren’t alone.

Jules Schiller can also be seen on The Back Page which airs weekly on Fox Sports.
