Jackie O breaks down over divorce from husband of 18 years Lee Henderson

Jackie O has given a heartbreakingly honest interview about life as a single woman, telling Jess Rowe what she misses about her ‘old life’.

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson has candidly opened up about her divorce and life as a single woman, breaking down in tears as she admits she “yearns” to find a partner someday.

Speaking on Jess Rowe’s podcast The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show, the KIIS FM radio host said that while she’s learnt to be comfortable in her own company since splitting from her husband of 18 years, Lee Henderson, she misses having someone to share a meal with at the end of the day.

The exes, who share 10-year-old Kitty, split in 2018, with Jackie revealing she intends to wait until her daughter is a teenager to look for love again.

At the end of the wide-ranging chat, Jackie broke down in tears as she revealed her longing to find someone when the time comes.

“I’d just love to sit at the dinner table with someone and have dinner, that’s what I yearn for and that’s the thing that I miss most about my old life,” the WW ambassador said as she began to cry.

As Rowe comforted the radio personality, she continued: “It’s a funny thing what we miss. It can be the littlest things, you know and for me it’s having that family time at the dinner table, that used to be my favourite part of the day.

“So I don’t have that now and I think I will get that back, but as I said I want to wait, you know, little bit longer. And then maybe down the track I will fall in love, that would be nice,” she said.

Lee and Jackie O confirmed their split in 2018.

Earlier in the discussion, Jackie had said that following the split, she found herself relishing in her own company, having been in back-to-back long term relationships since she was a teenager.

“Genuinely being alone and not having a partner, that’s where you realise. Am I okay with that or not? What kind of person am I?” she said.

“What I learned was that I’m very much okay in my own company … It was one of those things that I’d never been able to do before, and now I can.”

Jackie went on to explain that while she would like to meet someone new eventually, she was focused on her daughter and “bestie” Kitty, adding that she feels it’s important to show children a “healthy” relationship.

“I’ve got a bit of time, I can wait, I’d rather the small little window before she’s off with her friends … I don’t want to complicate it with somebody coming into my life just yet,” she said.

“I want her to see a couple that she lives with … who are really in love and show that, and show them what love means and what a relationship means, what a healthy relationship means. They get more from that going into future relationships as they get older.”

The Masked Singer judge said she wants her daughter to see what a ‘healthy relationship’ looks like.

Jackie announced her shock split from ex-husband Lee back in 2018 after 18 years together, with their statement making it clear Kitty was their priority.

“After 18 years together, we have made the decision to separate. We do so amicably, sharing many incredible memories and remaining best friends,” the KIIS FM presenter told fans at the time.

“Our focus for this next chapter is of course our wonderful daughter and continuing to provide her love and happiness, together.”

Lee has since repartnered with jujitsu instructor Gabriella Motta, with the two first spotted together in January 2019.
