Fed up: Osher Gunsberg sacks wedding planner
THE TV and radio star has realised that he “enjoys firing people” after giving his wedding planner the boot.
OSHER Gunsberg revealed to his HIT 105 co-hosts this morning that he sacked his wedding planner and has now realised “I kind of enjoy firing people.”
Gunsberg and his fiancee, Audrey Griffen, decided to hire a professional to organise their Splendour in the Grass themed wedding which will held later this month.
“It was an extravagant expense, yes, but I thought this is going to be worth it for peace of mind,” Gunsberg said on air this morning.
They met with a few wedding organisers in July and settled on a man who Gunsberg referred to as ‘Daryl’, which is not his real name.
Shortly after hiring him, Gunsberg told Daryl: “Within two weeks we need to be emailing out Save The Dates and then within a month I need to have these invitations in peoples letter boxes.”
But Daryl dropped the ball.
“It got to six weeks ago and Audrey and I just went, ‘Oh stuff this’, and we ended up emailing invitations,” Gunsberg said.
“He was not being very communicative. He wouldn’t email, he wouldn’t call back.”
The Bachelor host’s fiancee had resigned herself to the fact their wedding was going to be plagued with issues but Gunsberg refused to let that happen and told her, “Let’s just fire him!”
“It was a 20 second phone call,” Gunsberg told co-hosts Stav Davidson and Abby Coleman about sacking his wedding planner.
“I was on the way from the Uber to the gate at the airport the other day and I picked up the phone,” he said, “I was so mad by this point.
“I got myself into the zone and I thought of all the reasons why this person shouldn’t be doing this job. I called him up and said, ‘Daryl, I’ve had a long talk with Audrey. Considering all the things we’ve had a problem with and the things we were going to meet about today, don’t worry about meeting with us, we can’t work with you anymore. I’d like you to email all the contacts over that you’ve been dealing with and there was a deposit ... I need that deposit in my account by the close of business Thursday, OK? Thanks, bye’.”
Gunsberg and Griffen are now organising the wedding themselves ... with a little help from their friends.
“We’re mates with the people that put it [Splendour on the Grass] on,” he said, “So the site logistics person for Splendour is organising the showers and toilets.”
