The 40-year-old Irish personality, who is married to model and actress Tahyna Tozzi, has been suffering from a bad knee, muscle spasms in his chest, and three disc bulges in his neck causing pain.
Speaking on-air this week, he revealed he received a cortisone injection in his neck to help with pain relief to make a return to the show on Wednesday.
“I’ve been quiet as well as I didn’t really know what was going on, I’ve had a really bad knee,” he said.
“I had muscle spasms in my chest, which I thought was my heart. In my arm, I lost feeling in my arm for a couple of days ... I almost had paralysis in my arm.
“I was running around Sydney seeing surgeons and specialists. I have three disc bulges in my neck and one pinched a nerve.”
Tristan, who joined Studio 10 in 2020 alongside former co-host Sarah Harris, expressed how he missed the show and the tough time he had gone through.
