Jennie Garth has made a brutal admission about her decision to appear in the reboot of the iconic series that made her famous.

Shannen Doherty knew 'her time was very, very limited' in the weeks before she died

Beverly Hills, 90210 star Jennie Garth says she regrets being in the reboot 90210 which aired from 2008 to 2013.

The reboot saw Garth reunite with co-stars Brian Austin Green, Gabrielle Carteris, and Ian Ziering.

“I wish I hadn’t done it. No offence to them,” she said at ’90s Con Florida, which was held in Daytona Beach over the weekend, according to People.

Garth continued, “The producer was a friend of a friend, and I remember he came over in my living room, sat me down, [billed it as] this chance of a lifetime. He asked me to do it, and I didn’t know how to say no then. But the people were very nice and all the best to them.”

For their roles, Carteris said she “never wanted” to join the reboot, which lasted five seasons. “I was so shocked they were doing a new show. I was like, is it like, they long so much you’re just going to try to reinvent it over and over?” Green also added, “No offence at all, it’s, to me, we did 10 years of that show and it’s like OK, done.”

Beverly Hills, 90210 was created by Darren Star and ran for 10 seasons beginning in 1990. The series centred on a group of friends as they leave high school in Beverly Hills and enter college and beyond. In addition to Garth, Carteris, Green, and Ziering, the teen drama starred Jason Priestley, the late Shannen Doherty, Luke Perry, and Tori Spelling.

The hit series spawned numerous spin-offs, including Melrose Place, Models Inc., 90210, and Fox’s one-season BH90210.

While Garth, Doherty, and Spelling were the only original cast members involved in 90210, the panellists shared that when BH90210 was cancelled, it was an “impactful” moment for them.

“I was pretty much the only outspoken person saying I think we should give the audience what they want: comfort food,” said Ziering.

Carteris, however, described the experience as being “cathartic.” She continued, “It felt full circle, to be together as adults, having had our children, being able to work together. I thought it was probably one of those most impactful moments of my life.”
