Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green revealed why they stopped talking for 18 years.

The duo — who played on-screen love interests in Beverly Hills, 90210 and dated while filming — sat down to discuss their falling out during Monday’s episode of the Oldish podcast.

“I remember our last conversation and the last thing we said to each other before those 18 years. I was crying,” Spelling, 51, recalled. “I remember crying that we were going to lose touch because we were so close.”

She went on to note that the end of the hit TV series in 2000 was “like going through a divorce” because she was “losing that human I’m with every day.”

Despite their history, Spelling recalled Green, 51, “reassuring” her they would stay in touch before he quickly pointed out she didn’t hold up her end of the bargain.

“I remember going by Vincent [Young]’s house to see you multiple days after we wrapped and trying to keep a connection going. But it got to the point where I just never got that from you,” Green said.

“And then I remember being at the ‘90210’ DVD release party and you were married to Dean [McDermott] and I was with Megan [Fox] when we were still just dating — you guys got there and you never said hello to me once,” he added of the party which took place in 2006. “I just kept missing you guys and then you were gone.”

At the time, Spelling had just married McDermott, from whom she filed for divorce in March 2024. Meanwhile, Green had started dating Fox in 2004 before getting married in 2010 and splitting in 2021.

The father of five then told Spelling he believed she “did not want to be” his friend anymore.

“I genuinely felt that way,” Green said. “I felt like I’ve lived up to my half of the bargain. I tried to visit her and I would call you. When that wasn’t reciprocated at some point … you give up.”

Spelling agreed with Green, saying, “Your experience is pretty right on.”

The Scary Movie actress also revealed another reason they fell out was due to the people they went on to date after their relationship.

Spelling went on to date Young, who also played one of her love interests in the iconic ’90s show, and Green moved on with co-star Vanessa Marcil.

“It was a complicated relationship,” she recalled of dating Young. “On my part, I lost myself in that relationship again as I had done previously in relationships. That relationship was not a good relationship for me and toward the end I got wrapped up and things weren’t good.”

Spelling added that she also “shied away” from Green because he wasn’t “a fan of [her] relationship.”

“My process was different and I would shy away from those that would really fight for me. I never stopped thinking about you and never stopped wanting to reach out and reconnect,” she continued.

During their conversation, she also hinted at not being a fan of his relationship with Marcil, calling it “frustrating to see.” During their relationship, Marcil and Green welcomed son Kassius in 2002.

As for Green, he said he never cut her off because she was like a “sister” to him before confirming that they are now friends and have regular phone calls.

After his divorce from Fox, Green moved on with Sharna Burgess and announced their engagement in September 2023.
