Georgia Love couldn’t keep up with Sam Frost’s ratings as season two of The Bachelorette returned
AFTER a lot of hype, it seems Georgia Love couldn’t keep up with Sam Frost’s numbers as The Bachelorette returned with a ratings snag.
SOCIAL media may have been talking about Georgia Love and The Bachelorette last night but sadly it hasn’t translated into ratings for Channel 10.
The second season of the dating series debuted with just 655,000 viewers compared to the 875,000 who tuned in to watch Sam Frost hand out roses.
That’s also down on the debut numbers for Richie Strahan’s season of The Bachelor which launched with 882,000 viewers.
In it’s timeslot, The Bachelorette was soundly beaten by Nine’s reality juggernaut The Block which drew 819,000 eyeballs.
It also lost out to ABC’s top line up of Anh’s Brush with Fame (710,000) and Gruen (832,000) and was narrowly pipped at the post by Seven’s Border Security (660,000).

It’s not all bad news for Ten though with the show hitting it’s targets in demographics and social media.
The show trended on Twitter and easily won the night with viewers under 55.
There is also a chance that figures will improve for episode two with no competition from a fellow stripped reality show.
And according to a spokesperson from the network, they are already seeing an uptake on viewers on catch up.
“We are pleased with the response to the first episode of the new season of The Bachelorette Australia, on what was a competitive night on television,” said the spokesperson.
“Even at this very early stage, online viewing on tenplay is very strong. The Bachelorette Australia is off to a good start and we can’t wait for all of Australia to see the rest of this great season.”
