Seven coolest things GoT fans really want to see in Season Seven

GAME Of Thrones fans are counting down the days until Season Seven starts on July 17, with a whole list of exciting things they want to see in this penultimate season of the fantasy series.

TV trailer: Game of Thrones season 7

WITH just over seven days to go until Season Seven of Game of Thrones hits our screens, fans across the world are crossing their fingers and hoping the shortened seven-episode season will have these seven cool things.

After all, seven is a lucky number.

It doesn’t matter whether you are on Team Dany, Team Snow, Team Cersei or even Team Night King — if you’re a fan, you want to see these events.

1. The Stark Reunion

Ah, the poor Starks. At first we thought patriarch Ned Stark (Sean Bean) was going to be the hero of this series, until he got his head cut off in season one.

Then we thought his son Robb was going to save the day. Until he got shot with arrows, stabbed and had his head cut off in season three. Plus matriarch Catelyn got her throat cut in the Red Wedding and youngest son Rickon got shot full of arrows in the Battle Of the Bastards.

Writer George RR Martin even jokes that every time someone asks him when the next book will be finished, he kills another Stark.

Sansa has been betrothed and married off to kings, dwarfs and monsters, manipulated, humiliated and raped. Arya has been captured, blinded and learned to be an assassin, while Bran has been wandering around the frozen north, learning to be the Three Eyed Raven and running from the Night King.

And then we come to Jon Snow who (spoiler alert!) is not actually a Stark at all but everyone thinks he is Ned Stark’s bastard son.

Last season we got to see an emotional reunion between Sansa and Jon.

Finally — finally! — it looks like Arya and Bran will return to Winterfell this season and we will see the remaining Starks together. And alive.

You can even buy a Stark Reunion T-shirt off the fan sites in anticipation.

The old proverb says that revenge is a dish best eaten cold. And it’s bloody cold at Winterfell at the moment.

2 Littlefinger gets the chop

Littlefinger has been after Sansa’s heart after failing to win her mother Catelyn’s. Let’s hope she rips out his heart.

PETYR “Littlefinger” Baelish is the man who started this whole game of thrones by persuading his secret lover Lysa Arryn to poison her husband Jon and blame it on the Lannisters.

Ever since then he’s been climbing his so-called “ladder to chaos”, manipulating and tricking not just both sides but every side along the way.

He helped poison Cersei’s son Joffrey, betrayed Ned Stark to his death, threw Lysa out of her Moon Door and married Sansa off to the evil rapist Ramsay Bolton.

Now he’s in Winterfell, like a lecherous spider, spinning his webs around Jon and Sansa.

Fans thought the way Sansa killed her scumbag husband Ramsay — feeding him to his own hounds — was brilliant. Now we’ve all got our fingers and toes crossed she’ll find an even better way to get rid of Littlefinger.

3 Clegane Bowl

Please let us see The Hound rip into The Mountain.

EVER since we met Sandor “The Hound” Clegane and his brother Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane, we’ve been longing for this.

The brothers hate each other with a passion, especially after Gregor stuck The Hound’s head in a fire as a child.

While The Hound abandoned the cowardly Joffrey, saved Arya and amused us with his violent one-liners, The Mountain has been going around cutting the heads off horses. Now he’s Cersei’s pet killer, a half-zombie monster brought back from the dead.

The Hound, meanwhile, is with the Brotherhood Without Banners and likely to join up with Jon Snow this season.

Fans have been wanting them to fight for six seasons now and leaked photographs from filming suggest the two brothers could actually meet in season seven.

It’s the battle we desperately want to see — and possibly the only way The Mountain can die now.

4 Cersei gets her comeuppance (or at least a new haircut)

SHE’S

What has Cersei done with her hair? And will Jaime turn Queenslayer?

had a pretty rough time of it, between seeing her three children die, her father shot to death on the dunny and being forced to endure a naked Walk Of Shame through the capital.

But Cersei has also found the time to blow up many of her enemies — as well as a good chunk of King’s landing — and leave herself on the Iron Throne.

She loathes her little brother Tyrion, currently serving Daenerys, despises Sansa and pretty much hates everyone else as well, possibly including her incestuous lover, brother Jaime.

Utterly ruthless and willing to do anything to win, she will be a formidable foe for both Daenerys and Jon Snow.

We all want some payback for the way she slaughtered the Starks and Tyrells. This season should be the one where Cersei gets what she deserves.

Or it could be the one where she becomes an ally against the Night King. In that case, she at least needs to at least get a new haircut, because it looks like she got The Mountain to cut it for her.

5 Jon and Dany lock lips

Jon Snow hasn’t seen any action since Ygritte got killed.
Jon Snow hasn’t seen any action since Ygritte got killed.

JON Snow has spent six seasons smouldering up at The Wall, mastering the troubled hero look, while Dany has spent six seasons wandering around the east, rocking a series of flimsy dresses.

In a world filled with a lot of ugly, lumpen people, these two are the resident hotties of the show.

Yes, he’s still pining for the sexy Wildling girl he had die in his arms, while she left her muscled mercenary lover back in the east.

Daenerys Targaryen left her lover Daario back in the east.
Daenerys Targaryen left her lover Daario back in the east.

We know they join forces in this season but we also want to see them join lips.

All right, technically they are (spoiler alert!) aunt and nephew but that sort of thing is very much in the Targaryen tradition.

Even if they don’t end up together, we want to see ice meet fire this season.

6 Theon redeems himself heroically

Theon Greyjoy did help save Sansa but he has a long way to go to redeem himself.
Theon Greyjoy did help save Sansa but he has a long way to go to redeem himself.

POOR old Theon Greyjoy. He had his gentleman’s sausage chopped off by Ramsay Bolton, who then taunted him by eating sausages in front of him. He was beaten into calling himself Reek and sleeping with the dogs.

Still, he did betray Robb Stark, slaughter a garrison of his own people, chop the head off his old teacher Ser Rodrik and burn two boys.

Yes, he did help rescue Sansa from Ramsay Bolton but that doesn’t quite balance the ledger. He needs to redeem himself in battle and this season looks to be his chance. We’ve followed his slow downfall for six seasons — now we want some pay-off.

He has to show he’s not such a silly sausage after all.

7 The Wall falls

The Night King is coming, along with his undead army.
The Night King is coming, along with his undead army.

FOR centuries The Wall, a giant magical chunk of ice, has kept the White Walkers out of Westeros.

We know they are heading south, we know the Night King wants to destroy everything living. He can’t do that while The Wall stands.

Luckily there is a way. He touched Bran Stark and that enables him to pass through any magical wards to follow the new Three Eyed Raven.

And where is Bran heading? Why, to Winterfell and a Stark family reunion.

We don’t know what the finale of season seven will be but one of the last scenes surely has to be The Wall falling and the Night King finally crossing into Westeros.
