KIT Harington has the ultimate get-out-of-jail-free card: Game of Thrones spoilers.
The 29-year-old English actor, who portrays Jon Snow on the hit HBO show, revealed his character’s fate to a cop after having been pulled over for speeding while driving to his parents’ house.
“This policeman pulls me over and he said, ‘There’s two ways we can do this: You can either follow me back to the police station and I book you in, or you can tell me whether you [Snow] live on the next season,” Harington revealed during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
“I looked at him and said, ‘I’m alive next season.’ And he says, ‘On your way, Lord Commander.’”
Harington left fans speculating over his character’s fate last season, when Snow was apparently killed off on the season finale. Snow was brought back to life on the current season.
Writers of the show had expressly forbade him from revealing his fate to anyone, which he clearly didn’t abide by.
“When the writers told me, they said, ‘You can’t tell anyone — you can’t tell your mum, your dad, your brother, your friends,’” he recalled. “I told my mum and dad right away — that’s my mum and dad!”
He admits to also telling his girlfriend, Game of Thrones alum Rose Leslie.
And the cop, of course.
