‘I’m done’: GoT star Kit Harington spills on brutal final season
It might be one of the most popular TV shows of all time but Kit Harington has revealed filming the final season was anything but fun.
Game of Thrones might be one of the most popular TV shows of all time, but filming its final season was anything but fun for series star Kit Harington.
Harington told GQ Australia’s January-February edition he was “done” with his character Jon Snow by the time filming of the eighth season wrapped up.
“The last season of Thrones, seemed to be designed to break us,” he said. “Everyone was broken at the end. I don’t know if we were crying because we were sad it was ending or if we were crying because it was so f**king tiring.
“We were sleep deprived. It was like it was designed to make you think, ‘Right, I’m f**king sick of this’. I remember everyone walking around towards the end going, ‘I’ve had enough now. I love this, it’s been the best thing in my life, I’ll miss it one day — but I’m done.’”
But the actor did say he felt lucky that he was able to meet now wife Rose Leslie while filming Game of Thrones.
Filming scenes with Leslie, who played Snow’s wildling girlfriend Yrigtte, was a double win because they were “both realising we were in a hit, both finding this other person that we fell in love with”.
The couple married last year in a lavish castle wedding.
“It dawned on me, recently, and I have no idea if we will, but say me and Rose do have
children. They’ll know. They’ll be able to see the genesis of their parents getting together.
Which is quite a wonderful thought, really,” Harington said.
“I thank the show for everything. But more than anything else, I thank it for introducing me to her.”
