George R.R. Martin is having trouble finishing the ‘Game of Thrones’ books
IF YOU love Game of Thrones, you’re not going to be thrilled about the latest comments from author George R.R. Martin. Prepare yourself.
A LOT of people have been wondering when George R.R. Martin will finish his A Song of Ice and Fire series, which HBO’s Game of Thrones is based on.
As it stands, the show may outpace the books, and that has many GoT fans concerned.
In a recent interview with New Mexico In Focus, Martin has admitted that the impatience of fans and of HBO has affected his writing process.
He is currently attempting to write the sixth novel in the Ice and Fire series but is having difficulty doing so due to the demands of those around him.
“Yes, to some extent it does [affect my writing], but when the writing is going well it doesn’t matter,” Martin said.
“When I’m there and working, I just kind of fall through my computer screen and I forget the world, I forget deadlines, I forget the TV show, and the emails and all of that stuff.
“It’s just me and the characters and the world that I’m describing, and I’m writing a page at a time, and a scene at a time and a word at a time.”
Sooner or later, Martin will finish the novels and the book readers and TV show watchers will all be better for it. He hasn’t said when exactly because he doesn’t want to place unrealistic expectations on himself or get his fans’ hopes too high.
Hopefully, he finishes them before the show catches up, though, as he is clearly the mastermind behind this amazing series.
