GAME of Thrones star Maisie Williams has said she can’t wait to see what her fans think of her upcoming stint in Doctor Who.
Williams, who has risen to fame as Arya Stark in Game of Thrones, is set to appear in an episode when Doctor Who returns to BBC1 on September 19.
Details of her character have not been revealed but she spoke about the show on CNN’s Ones to Watch.
As someone who has always watched and enjoyed Doctor Who, she said: “It’s quite daunting to be a part of such an iconic series. But everyone was so lovely and they are such a great team, I slotted in straight away.
“I can’t wait to see what the fans think of it.” Peter Capaldi, who plays the Doctor, recently described her cameo on the show as “cosmic”.
Jenna Coleman, who plays the Doctor’s assistant, Clara, described her as “utterly brilliant as you would expect”.
“It’s a very surprising and intriguing storyline with her connection to us and her connection to the Doctor,” she said. Williams, 18, joined Game of Thrones aged 12, and told CNN that she had learned things like the vocabulary on set and how to behave.
On her Thrones character, Arya, she said: “I try to be true to the Arya I first envisaged and hope people like her.”
