Game of Thrones star Charles Dance confirms a movie adaptation is being discussed

HIT television series Game of Thrones could be set for a big screen adaptation, after a cast member revealed film discussions are under way.

DISCUSSIONS are under way to bring hit television series Game of Thrones to the big screen, with a film adaptation potentially in the works.

That’s the shock confirmation from star Charles Dance, who plays Tywin Lannister, during an interview that appeared online overnight.

Speaking to The Daily Beast, the actor said there is active discussion about turning George R.R. Martin’s epic story into a movie following its small screen success on HBO.

“There’s talk of eventually trying to do a feature film, but I don’t know which of the storylines,” Dance revealed.

“There’s so much to cram into a film.”

This latest rumbling comes after Martin told the Hollywood Reporter in May that he’d like to see a film treatment happen, possibly as a final chapter.

“It all depends on how long the main series runs,” he said. “Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eight? Do we run for 10?

“It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know.”

The fifth season of Game of Thrones will air early next year.
