Game of Thrones ending guessed by some fans says George R.R. Martin

GEORGE R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, on which HBO’s Game of Thrones is based, is a complex web with many intricate storylines woven together.
But somehow, some of Martin’s readers have figured out how it’s all going to end.
Martin has revealed that a couple of his readers who post in online forums have correctly guessed the ending to his epic series.
In an interview with The Telegraph, he said:
“At least one or two readers had put together the extremely subtle and obscure clues that I’d planted in the books and came to the right solution.”
I suppose that was bound to happen eventually. So many people read these books so closely that someone was bound to figure out secrets.
This, of course, raises the question of whether or not Martin will change the ending now that some have discovered it. Because, as you may know, not all of the books have been written yet.
Martin said:
“I’ve wrestled with this issue, because I do want to surprise my readers. I hate predictable fiction as a reader, I don’t want to write predictable fiction. I want to surprise and delight my reader and take them in directions they didn’t see coming.
“But I can’t change the plans … I wrestled with that issue and I came to the conclusion that changing it would be a disaster, because the clues were there.”
It’s probably best that he doesn’t deviate from his long-considered plans. Only a few people have figured out the answers, and Martin hasn’t let on who they are. It would undermine most of what came before this if he were to suddenly re-route the entire series.
But it is cool to know that there are some insightful nerds out there.
