Emilia Clarke performed the ‘funky chicken’ during Game of Thrones audition

THINK of Emilia Clarke dressed up as her Game of Thrones character Daenerys Targaryen. Now picture her doing the “funky chicken” dance.

In an interview with Variety, Clarke says she pulled out the silly dance move during her audition for the role.

She explains that after reading for the part, she asked producers if they needed her to do anything else.

The show’s co-creator and showrunner David Benioff jokingly suggested she dance.

And so she did.

“I’d might as well have brought in, like, a little apple or something,” she said. “Teacher’s pet. Just wanted it so bad.”

And why the funky chicken? “It’s the only move I know,” she said. And it probably won her the part.
