Emilia Clarke may have just revealed a major spoiler about Daenerys Targaryen’s fate

GAME of Thrones star Emilia Clarke must have missed the memo about keeping the show’s spoilers locked up tight, judging by this interview.

WHEN it comes to Game of Thrones, the night is dark and full of spoilers, but usually, those spoilers don’t come from anyone involved in the show.

Apparently, star Emilia Clarke missed that memo (or has been sent to misdirect us), because in a profile with Rolling Stone published earlier today, she was pretty frank about the future of her character, Daenerys aka Khaleesi, aka Mother of Dragons, aka the rightful ruler of the Seven Kingdoms.

While much of the interview was typical journalistic fodder about Clarke’s weird relationship to fame, dealing with sexism in Hollywood, Trump’s presidency, and then became progressively more serious as she discussed the tragic loss of her father to cancer, the conversation shifted to the ever-discussed Thrones and the changes her character has undergone over the last six seasons.

“You don’t get to be a mother of dragons without a change or two,” she says. “Being able to encompass and understand the kind of woman who could conquer armies and topple societies allows me, the actor, to stand firmly in those shoes.”

Clarke recounted the difficulty of being on set after her father’s death, but tried to channel her emotions into playing Khaleesi. After reminiscing about the way playing the role had changed her life, she soon revealed some secrets about the upcoming season.

“Spoiler alert — I normally don’t spend very much time in Belfast, but this last season I spent a little more time there,” she told the publication.

“It’s a really interesting season in terms of some loose ends that have been tied, some really satisfying plot points, some things where you’re like, ‘Oh, my God. I forgot about that!’

“Rumours are going to be confirmed or denied … I mean, I have no doubt there’ll be prequels and sequels and who knows what else. But I am doing one more season. And then that’ll be it.”

So there you have it, folks. It seems like the Mother of Dragons will stick it out in Westeros until the bitter end.

Sounds like Khaleesi isn’t going anywhere.

“Khaleesi got a little something extra this year, you know what I mean? She got a little something else going on,” Clarke revealed.

Regardless of what the actress may or may not have dropped hints about, it’s safe to say that Winter is here, y’all.

Season 7 of Game of Thrones debuts on Foxtel on July 16.
