Game of Thrones new season trailer sees return from the dead for Jon Snow

SLAUGHTERED for treason in last season’s Game of Thrones, Jon Snow has returned in the new series trailer. But is he alive or is it a flashback?

Game of Thrones Season 6: Teaser

THE first teaser trailer for Game of Thrones season six promises it will be an explosive series.

Fans were left gobsmacked when Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, was seemingly killed at the end of the fifth season for committing treason against the Night’s Watch but he is expected to return when the show comes back in April 2016.

The Sun reports that the flashback-heavy trailer features a montage of clips showing numerous characters being brutally murdered from previous series while the booming voiceover of Max Von Sydow, who will play the Three Eyed Raven, echoes over the top.

He says: “We watch, we listen and we remember. The past is already written, the ink is dry.”

Following the violent sequence, which features the infamous shot of Jon Snow on the ground as blood pours out of his body, Bran Stark is shown returning and a voice retorts: “They have no idea what’s going to happen.

However, the gripping clip gives no clues about Jon Snow’s fate with fans still perplexed as to how he could return.

Earlier this year, Kit was spotted filming scenes for the upcoming series in Belfast although it is not yet clear whether these mean he is alive or whether they will be used as part of a flashback sequence.

The uncertainty of his fate comes after Carice van Houren, who plays Red priestess Melisandre, said “he can’t be dead. No!”

But earlier this year HBO programming president Michael Lombardo was adamant about the character’s end.

He said: “Dead is dead is dead is dead.

“He be dead. Yes. Everything I’ve seen and heard and read, Jon Snow is indeed dead.”
