Fire and Fury: Controversial book about President Donald Trump is being turned into a TV series

FIRE and Fury, the controversial bestseller about Donald Trump’s first year in the White House, is being adapted into a TV drama. But who will play the president?

Trump is beyond reason and control: Michael Wolff

MICHAEL Wolff’s explosive behind-the-scenes book about US President Donald Trump is headed for TV.

Hollywood production house Endeavor Content has bought the rights to Fire and Fury, Wolff’s best-selling book, and plans to adapt it into a series, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Wolff will executive produce the show, which will be shopped to various networks.

No casting or air date has been set but the announcement set off speculation about who would play some of the key figures in the White House.

Perhaps Alec Baldwin, who famously impersonated the president on Saturday Night Live, will be on the casting agent’s radar.

Fire and Fury portrays a chaotic White House in Trump’s first year as president, based on extensive interviews with Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon and others.

It sold more than 28,000 copies in the United States in its first week, according to NPD BookScan.

The book, published on January 5, characterised Trump as unstable, inept and unprepared to be president.

Trump responded on Twitter that Wolff was “a total loser who made up stories in order to sell this really boring and untruthful book”.

“We are going to take a strong look at our country’s libel laws so that when somebody says something that is false and defamatory about a person, that person will have meaningful recourse in our courts,” Trump said in a statement.
