Lisa Wilkinson has reportedly made a massive amount of money despite being on a months-long break from Channel 10.

Lisa Wilkinson has reportedly been getting paid her full Channel 10 salary despite quitting The Project in November.

The former Today co-host, who jumped ship from Nine to Ten in 2017, announced on-air that “relentless, targeted” media coverage led to her decision to step back from the current affairs program.

The 63-year-old, who clarified she’d be staying with the network, has kept a low profile since her shock departure in mid-November.

However, The Australian’s Media Diary reports she has continued to pocket her rumoured seven-figure salary while she ponders her next move.

Wilkinson, who renewed a multi-year contract with Ten in 2021, reportedly gets paid upwards of $1.7 million a year, meaning she’s potentially made around $280,000 during her two-month hiatus.

The publication speculates Wilkinson is unlikely to host the reality TV tentpole shows, including The Bachelor and I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here, leaving the network with little opportunity to get their money’s worth.

At the time of her exit from The Project, which also lost Carrie Bickmore and Peter Helliar, industry sources claimed Wilkinson likely wouldn’t appear on Ten again until “well into 2023”.

Meanwhile, Wilkinson emerged on social media in early January and aired her New Year’s resolution.

Sharing a photo of a note written on her leg with black texta, Wilkinson wrote, “I’ve never been one for New Year’s Resolutions. In 2023 I’m making an exception though, for this blinding gem of wisdom …”

The note written on her leg read, “The best weight you’ll ever lose if the weight of other people’s opinion of you.”

At the time of her exit, Wilkinson said it was time to “reprioritise a few things in my life” after a difficult six months marked by “relentless, targeted toxicity”.

“The last six months have not been easy,” Wilkinson told viewers in mid-November, saying she was leaving effective immediately.

“And the relentless, targeted toxicity by some sections of the media has taken a toll not just on me but on people I love.

“Don’t get me wrong. I’m not above criticism. Far from it. I’m human, and I don’t always get it right. None of us do. But by god I’ve tried. I’ve given this job everything I have.

“I have had a ball, but for me right now it’s time for a change. To be clear. I’m not leaving Ten and we’re looking at some very exciting work ideas ahead.”
