Lisa Wilkinson has started 2023 with an inspirational message on Instagram after her sudden exit from The Project.
In her first post of the year, the TV personality shared a photo from the account strongwomen.vibes.
The snap features a woman’s leg with a message written on it: “The best weight you’ll ever lose is the weight of other people’s opinion of you”.
The journalist, who liked the uplifting message, reposted it on her own account.
“I’ve never been one for New Year’s Resolutions. In 2023 I’m making an exception though, for this blinding gem of wisdom…” she wrote.
“Who wants to join me?️️️️”

Last year, Wilkinson stunned viewers when she announced she was departing The Project after five years on the show.
The presenter cited a difficult last six months marked by “relentless, targeted toxicity”.
“It’s time to reprioritise a few things in my life,” she said.
“And after almost 15 years of the early alarm on breakfast TV, and now another five years here at the Project desk, I’m looking at how I want the coming years to play out, both professionally and personally.
“So, from tonight, I’m stepping back from hosting the show.”
She said it had been an “absolute privilege” to work with the “incredible team” at Ten, whom she described as being among “the most talented and decent humans I know”.
It’s believed Wilkinson will be taking a long break from any TV hosting duties, and may not return to screens until “well into 2023”.
Chief content officer for Ten’s owner Paramount, Beverley McGarvey, confirmed Wilkinson would be staying with the network, saying the company looked forward “to continuing our strong relationship with Lisa into 2023 and beyond”.
Ten also noted in a statement that it was “no surprise audiences have continued to welcome her into their lounge rooms and on to their screens.”
