Celebs turn on Andy Lee over ‘selfish’ on-air confession to girlfriend

Andy Lee dragged girlfriend Rebecca Harding in front of the cameras to make a big confession – but nobody was on his side.

The Hundred host Andy Lee brought his longtime girlfriend Rebecca Harding onto the show during Tuesday’s episode to make an on-camera confession about their relationship.

And the quiz show host was howled down by last night’s panellists, including Hamish Blake and Sophie Monk, who declared him “rude” and “selfish.”

Lee, 41, motioned for his girlfriend to join him in front of the cameras – a request Harding clearly wasn’t prepared for.

“I’ve come from hot pilates … I was not expecting this!” she said as she took a seat next to her partner.

Lee then revealed that there was a secret he’d shared with longtime comedy partner Blake, but hadn’t yet confessed to his girlfriend.

“Bec and I watch series together. We enjoy watching Westworld. I have finished the series,” he announced, to a shocked reaction from Harding.

“You can’t do that! It’s selfish,” said Monk. “That’s rude, I’m sorry.”

Lee explained he’d gotten through the rest of the acclaimed HBO series they had been watching together while he was on a flight.

“You might as well have joined the mile high club with someone – that’s cheating,” said Blake.

Hamish Blake and Sophie Monk were NOT on Team Andy.

“If my husband did that to me, I’d almost divorce him. No, seriously, you don’t watch a show without the other,” said Monk.

Lee protested that he’d tried to get Harding to watch the series for several years, and that he’d charged ahead with the latest season when she wasn’t showing as much interest in it as him.

After pleading his case, Lee threw the question over to “The Hundred” – 100 viewers at home, who’d vote on whether or not he was in the wrong.

The result? Just 12 per cent of respondents thought Lee’s actions were OK.

All appeared to be forgiven, though: Lee and Harding shared a kiss as the show went to commercial break.

This isn’t the first time Lee and his girlfriend have mined potential relationship awkwardness on-air: Last year, Harding pranked her boyfriend during an appearance on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, calling him live on radio and telling him she’d signed him up to speak at a charity gig at the last minute.

Things went south quickly when Lee flat-out declined to help, telling her: “It’s your problem, not mine. Enjoy your problem.”

Also last year, the pair opened up about their relationship in a very candid joint interview – including a rocky period where they split up for six months.
